The Operations Director is responsible for a high paced team of leaders focused on the functional areas of Project/Program Management, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Field Deployment and Software Integrations. This team drives projects across North America focused on Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring (EPMS) within the Data Center segment.

The candidate would be responsible for overall success of BMS and EPMS deployments. The candidate would also be responsible for ensuring financial success of the P&L day to day focused on revenue and gross margin targets. This role is focus on the overall efficiency of the organization including people utilization rates.

The candidate would coordinate with peers with similar functions to discover efficiencies that can be driven across any silos of functional teams. The ideal candidate would have 10 years in engineering and program managing BMS type deployments within complex buildings. Also, he or she would be required to have 10 years of leadership experience.

Responsible for portfolio management ensure all projects are executed within company & customer expectations (on time, on budget, high quality). Maintain net zero GM variance on assigned project portfolio. Work with leadership staff to identify project risk and help oversee conflict resolution. Responsible for selling the capability of the operations team in pre-sale customer meetings Responsible for defining complex hardware and software architectures including intelligent devices, network communications and software platform technology stacks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with sales personnel to review and approve work estimates being provided to the customer

  • Track progress and health status of projects over the entire project deployment lifecycle

  • Mentor leadership staff ensuring high level of competency within all functional areas

  • P&L management

  • A point of escalation for challenging projects

Education/Experience Required:

Four (4) year Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience

Project Management Professional certification is a plus
10 years of project management experience deploying HVAC mechanical & electrical systems
10 years of supervisory experience

Skills & Abilities:

Strong growth minded and fast paced leadership skills

Understanding of P&L management and the levers of influence

General knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) specifications

Basic knowledge of networks along with communication protocols along with software integration concepts such as ETL (extract/transform/load)

Basic understanding of mechanical cooling technology such as Chillers, Direct Expansion

Experience with Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRACs) for mixed room air and hot/cool isle containment with a Data Center environment is a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project

Relationship building skills internally and externally

Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion

Self-motivated with strong organizational skills

Good track record of obtaining results with minimal direction in a fast-paced team environment

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Good interpersonal team skills for teamwork, respect, courtesy, tact, and discretion

Potential to accommodate domestic travel up to 20%

Working as a Network Manager in the Global Network Command Centre (GNCC) you'll be responsible for the operation of the network infrastructure (routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, load balancers, WAN optimisers, Out-of-Band management, IPAM) across all business units of AmerisourceBergen. Members in this role must be able to work collaboratively with system users and other technical colleagues. Individuals work across all functional areas of the enterprise and use a strong client service orientation to ensure that all requests and problems are resolved in a professional manner. Successful members of the team will be process focused while providing good customer service to AmerisourceBergen IT teams and businesses. IT Leaders are also responsible for analyzing trends in technology, assessing the impact of emerging technologies on the business, providing solutions to address technology and business issues, and managing financial resources while ensuring the development of high-quality technology solutions.
