Position Overview

You're a passionate, dynamic, and highly motivated individual who's looking for an opportunity to have an impact on some of the most well-known companies in the world. This integral member of the Operations team will report to the Executive Director, Operations. You're a problem solver and go-getter looking to leverage a career in the IT/Operations world.

The Director, Operations Process Control leads a team of staff which creates, executes and delivers data reports to clients within strict time frames. The data reports are produced using various software including advanced MicroStrategy, SAS and proprietary NPD software. The Operations Director is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity and timeliness of client deliverables. Also for identifying, investigating and resolving data issues and effectively communicate to the appropriate internal parties. The Operations Director will also be expected to make decisions for Operational activities and set strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of staff in charge of delivering data reports according to strict deadlines.

  • Plan and monitor day-to-day activities ensuring smooth progress.

  • Create new processes and implement procedures effectively to staff.

  • Evaluate efficiencies of existing procedures, apply improvement where necessary and develop strategies for process improvement.

  • Act as key point of contact for all reporting issues/questions.

  • Effectively liaise with other groups within the company such as, Commercial, System Development, DSI and other support groups.

  • Support a team of direct reports across multiple locations and contribute to their ongoing development

  • Oversee technical projects/enhancements.

  • Identifying and eliminating security vulnerabilities to ensure there are no report data breaches.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience.

  • 8-10 years of proven leadership and management skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint).

  • Strong attention to detail; proven history of delivering quality work.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work; handle multiple tasks and ensure data quality concurrently.

  • Ability to interact with business and technical teams.

  • Ability to solve problems and propose solutions with minimal direction.

  • Proven exposure to the operation of data collection and retrieval.

  • Macro, VBA skills, a plus!

Position Overview The successful candidate will be part of a team creating informative, long-lasting reports using a variety of business intelligence and analytic reporting tools, and must demonstrate good development practices. The candidate realizes the value that technology can provide to end-users, and is interested in providing creative and visually impactful solutions that meet their needs. In designing and building solutions, the candidate will have the capability to understand and strive for technical excellence, while also constructing pragmatic solutions given technical, functional and operational constraints. This position will be based in Port Washington, NY. Overall Responsibilities: * Gathering requirements, designing, implementing and testing applications. * Producing custom reporting dashboards, reports and decks, building business intelligence infrastructure. * Accessing large data in the terabyte range from a variety of sources, including Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, Hadoop, SAP IQ, Oracle, flat files and PC Files. * Building data driven, rule-based processing systems that are low maintenance and follow software development best practices. * Working in a highly collaborative, agile environment with minimal supervision. * Managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. * Finding solutions to problems and demonstrating the ability to set and meet reasonable deadlines. * Writing documentation in clear language that can be understood by non-technical team members. Qualifications: * BS in Computer Science, Data Science, Market Research, Information Systems, or similar field of study. * Experience or coursework in reporting software such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, or PowerBI. * Exposure to Relational Databases using SQL. * Cloud computing, preferably Microsoft Azure, including PaaS, IaaS, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Data Warehouse desirable. * Data Analytics exposure in python, R or SAS a plus. * Operating Systems: Linux, Windows. * Strong communication skills with non-technical users.
