Who we are -
We are a nonprofit organic farmers' cooperative of over 100 Lancaster County, Pennsylvania farmers. We focus on creating healthy, high-quality foods from our highly maintained and enriched soils on our small-scale family farms. We deliver the best local organic produce, value-added products, and humanely raised and pastured animal products to retail establishments, co-ops, restaurants, and institutions.

Position Summary -
We are looking for an experienced Operations Coordinator who likes the challenge of a fast-paced environment. Ideally, the candidate must possess a willingness and ability to learn quickly and be a motivated and detail-oriented team player. It is important to be collaborative and possess dynamic communication skills, exhibit professionalism, and always contribute with a positive attitude. This position reports to the Business Development Manager and supports the co-op by partnering with all departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who enjoys proactively anticipating and responding to departmental needs and creatively problem-solving to ensure we can continue to fulfill our mission and commitments to customers and farmers.
What you'll be doing -
Working within all supply chain functions to support current practices, identify roadblocks, and create improvements
Serve as a resource to the Business Development Manager and assist with specific improvement activities across the organization
Serve as a point of contact and connector for Department Leads and Managers
Ensure established operational protocols and objectives are being met
Support the relationships and day-to-day interactions between departments, including procurement, sales, CSA, and the warehouse
Serve as additional support for all operational activities during our peak times
Assists leads and managers with training new hires; helps new hires get acclimated to our work environment and operational needs and explains how each department interacts with one another.
Encourages teamwork, training, and learning; partners with HR to facilitate quarterly training for all staff
Respond to inquiries and refer to the proper department manager.
Other assigned duties as determined by the Business Development Manager.
Qualifications
Who you are -
You have a Bachelor's degree in Business/Supply Chain or equivalent training and experience; minimum of four years in a perishable sales environment preferred
You are passionate and knowledgeable of organic produce, pastured meats/dairy products, and the natural food industry
You can exercise good judgment regarding the availability of seasonal farm products
You have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), are outgoing, and enjoy interacting with people
You possess strong computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook
You are capable of thriving in a high-volume sales team environment
You have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
You can set priorities and meet deadlines while accomplishing team objectives
You can be comfortable in a diverse, dynamic, and co-operative work environment
You can resolve issues appropriately and promptly
You can work both collaboratively and independently to achieve desired results
You have proven customer service standards of excellence and related philosophy
You are reliable and highly motivated to get the job done
