Clearway Energy Group is looking for an Operations Coordinator to join the Real-Time Operations Team in Scottsdale, AZ. This position is part of the Clearway Energy Group RPMC (Reporting and Performance Monitoring Center) team that monitors and controls 4.1 GW of wind and solar facilities. The Operations Coordinator will play a key role in the development of policies, procedures, and tools used by the RPMC team. This role will also coordinate and support the needs of different teams outside of the RPMC, such as Site Operations, RAM (Reporting, Analytics, and Metrics) Team, SCADA and PI/IT Support Teams. The Operations Coordinator will report directly to the Manager, Real-Time Operations.


  • Development of policy and procedure to support and guide the RPMC team to become Best in Class with rules, obligations, and compliance requirements of the Clearway Energy Group fleet.

  • Perform periodic reviews of systems to ensure proper operations for alarming, controls, and documentation required to monitor and respond to events.

  • Development of RPMC tools, testing, verifications, implementations and other projects regarding analysis of real-time operational events.

  • Assist other support teams in troubleshooting and using such tools, including but not limited to: PI Systems, OEM SCADAs, Clearway GMS, and other tools used for controls or monitoring capabilities.

  • Scheduling availability or energy forecast on a daily, monthly, and annual basis as required by different regional requirements.

  • Support commissioning of new projects and coordinate all power plant control functions for remote operations. This will include communication and coordination with appropriate external entities, required commissioning tests for control systems.

  • Assist in coordination of regulatory and contractual compliance needs for all assets under the Clearway Energy Group portfolio.

  • Assist external teams in the use and development of real-time logging tools, specifically scheduling and reporting through TOBIAS.

  • Seek to continuously improve system processes related to real-time operations duties.

  • Support and assist in the onboarding process and training activities of new operations personnel, both on the real-time operations and site operations teams.

  • Support continuous review of all RPMC procedures and processes.

  • Assist Real-Time Operator in understanding and adhering to contractual obligations (PPA's, LGIA's, and O&M agreements).

  • Coordinate with Operations Supervisor in the development and implementation of processes and procedures to assure compliance with internal controls and quality control for customers and field personnel.


  • Minimum of 5 years experience in power plant operations

  • 4-year degree, or relevant experience may be considered

  • PMP Certificate required within 12 months of employment

  • PJM GO Certification required within 6 months of employment

  • NERC RC Certification required within 12 months of employment

  • Able to demonstrate competent technical knowledge of plant and system processes and experience in operating electrical or SCADA systems

  • Ability to use analytical software to detect equipment performance issues

  • Able to interpret NERC, ERCOT, WECC, CAISO, PJM, and SPP regulations and requirements

  • Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet customer requirements with systems

  • Knowledge of functional system interactions and must be able to pay attention to critical elements in a complex and regulated environment

  • Ability to make financial decisions based off real-time power plant equipment analysis and contract related cost weighting risk versus reward

  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence

  • Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others

  • Ability to work in difficult customer situations

The Role This position is responsible for driving alignment and consistency of local operations through: * Partnership with CRB Leadership * Collaboration with Regional Director of Operations Team * Strategic planning and tactical execution * Lead and mentor office service delivery positions Provide CRB Leadership with strategy and business decision support including yet not limited to: * Annual business planning, Organizational structure and Staffing * Partner with CRB leaders in presenting strategic vision, articulating benefits, and listening to feedback / improvement opportunities * Provide ongoing development of a consistent service platform that supports client management, service, and broking while promoting financial goals and supporting the Willis Towers Watson Values * Partner with Broking leadership to provide ongoing operations support and build team collaboration * Oversee delivery of insurance brokerage services to ensure that they meet or exceed quality standards for the insurance brokerage industry in terms of speed, accuracy, and technical content – ultimately driving client retention * Act as Advocate Partner as designated * Manage book of business as designated * Partner with CRB leader and drive the implementation process and technology improvements * Develop and drive metrics leading to process improvement and associate accountability * Work with Regional Operations Leader and Learning & Development team to ensure associates are trained * Oversight of systems integration, implementation, training, and migration * Collaborate with CRB leadership to ensure the delivery and content of Client Advocacy Reports and Client Service Plans * Collaborate with CRB leadership to review NPS results and client interviews to identify improved client service opportunities * Act as liaison to Client Support Teams * Ensure effective use of centers of excellence * Point of escalation to assist in resolving internal and client issues relating to centers of excellence * Ensure process implementation and compliance with Willis Towers Watson corporate and regulatory standards in collaboration with compliance, legal, and audit.
