Job Description:

Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager with main focus on the front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with the hiring, training and development of store associates as delegated by the Store Manager

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager

  • Able to perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager

  • Assist the Store Manager in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures including safety guidelines

  • Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates and supervisors

  • Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards to include recovery

  • When the Store Manager is not on the premises, direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates

  • Process all SSC Corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information

  • requests and any additional communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager

  • Assist the Store Manager on the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.

  • Follow the VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures

  • Assist the Store Manager in ensuring proper staffing coverage on a daily basis

  • Assist the Store Manager in ensuring that the sales floor is sales effective on a daily basis

  • Assist in the management of cashiering activities to ensure all company cash handling practices & guidelines are followed at all times by all Associates

  • Promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays

  • Assist in the management of sales effectiveness of seasonal areas in the store

  • Coordinate appropriate signage utilized in the store

  • Assist with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise

  • Process damaged merchandise on a daily basis

  • Assist Store Manager with creation of weekly schedules

  • Assist in the management of store supplies and expense control

  • Assist with merchandising and maintaining the checkout area to maximize impulse sales

  • Ensure coolers and store-front program racks/displays are refilled daily (balloon program, sunglasses, batteries, etc.)

  • Assist with the management of the Drive Item program

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Prefer prior retail and management experience

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills

  • Ability to lift, bend and transport merchandise weighing up to 50lbs

  • Ability to work in a high energy team environment

Our teams are working tirelessly to provide a clean and safe environment for our Associates and customers. We continue to enhance and modify our protocols, as appropriate. This includes:

  • Plexiglass guards at cash registers

  • Associates conduct home health screenings two hour prior to their shift

  • Managers conduct in-store health screenings of each associate prior to shift

  • Cleaning protocols that include hand sanitizer and supplies to clean throughout the day

  • Social Distancing by maintaining at least six feet between yourself and shoppers

  • Face masks and gloves for Associates to wear during their shifts

VIEW JOBS 10/13/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-01-11T00:00 PURPOSE: Oversee and direct the activities of the production and shop departments in a safe and efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work and oversee location (physical plant and related issues) under direction of Branch Manager. BASIC FUNCTIONS * Must adhere to and ensure implementation of Harris Rebar's safety programs and standards to achieve company goal of zero accidents. * Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebar's vision and values. * Ensure effective implementation of all other Harris Rebar Policies and directives relevant to shop operations. * Direct supervisors/foremen with respect to safety, production volume, cost, quality, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates. * Manage workforce levels of all shop-related personnel and oversee the scheduling of their work hours, including managing overtime hours, so that customer needs are met and costs are managed effectively. * Oversee the hiring, training, motivation, evaluation and work of all shop-related personnel so that all employees perform effectively and efficiently. * Coordinate plant inventory at levels established by Branch Manager and order reinforcing steel as needed so that customer needs can be met within established inventory goals. * Assure that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production. * Oversee proper authorization and purchase of needed replacement parts, and recommends to management any capital expenditures so that the shop can operate with the most up-to-date and efficient plant and equipment as possible. * Provide Branch Manager with appropriate operating data so that accurate costs can be maintained and efficiency can be improved. * Maintain good employee relations and adherence to company policy, take proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required. * Implement, in coordination with Branch Manager, all Harris Rebar policy and practices to all shop-related personnel so that all employees know what is expected of them and, in turn, what they can expect from their employer. * Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department. * Establish accountabilities and goals used for performance evaluation. * Ensure that appropriate corporate controls and policies are implemented and adhered to. * Act as "landlord" for location so that adequate work environment and necessary support services are provided. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. * Five to eight years of reinforcing steel fabrication or related experience, with at least three years' experience as a supervisor. * Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA Industrial Safety Standards PREFERENCES * Knowledge of related business, labor relations, cost accounting and industrial regulations and standards * Experience implementing continuous improvement and/or related project management experience in implementing improvements SELECTION CRITERIA * Ability to work as a team leader/member on projects with an aptitude for problem solving * Organized and detail oriented * Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities * Effective verbal and communication skills SPECIAL DEMANDS * Respond to urgent issues that arise at plant location. * Work in noisy manufacturing environment with known hazards.
