Job Description:

Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager with main focus on the front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with the hiring, training and development of store associates as delegated by the Store Manager

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager

  • Able to perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager

  • Assist the Store Manager in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures including safety guidelines

  • Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates and supervisors

  • Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards to include recovery

  • When the Store Manager is not on the premises, direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates

  • Process all SSC Corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information

  • requests and any additional communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager

  • Assist the Store Manager on the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.

  • Follow the VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures

  • Assist the Store Manager in ensuring proper staffing coverage on a daily basis

  • Assist the Store Manager in ensuring that the sales floor is sales effective on a daily basis

  • Assist in the management of cashiering activities to ensure all company cash handling practices & guidelines are followed at all times by all Associates

  • Promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays

  • Assist in the management of sales effectiveness of seasonal areas in the store

  • Coordinate appropriate signage utilized in the store

  • Assist with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise

  • Process damaged merchandise on a daily basis

  • Assist Store Manager with creation of weekly schedules

  • Assist in the management of store supplies and expense control

  • Assist with merchandising and maintaining the checkout area to maximize impulse sales

  • Ensure coolers and store-front program racks/displays are refilled daily (balloon program, sunglasses, batteries, etc.)

  • Assist with the management of the Drive Item program

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Prefer prior retail and management experience

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills

  • Ability to lift, bend and transport merchandise weighing up to 50lbs

  • Ability to work in a high energy team environment

This person provides medical and/or surgical specialists with resources necessary to provide the highest level of quality patient care and meet the financial objectives of the practice and the Clinical Practice Group (CPG) of the University of Virginia Physicians Group (UPG). * Builds strong and positive communication with physicians and works as a team to enhance the success of the practice. * Develops strong inter-departmental teamwork to meet the needs of the patients and physicians and drive patient quality, decision-making and other actions. * Ensures standards of quality patient care and compliance with all regulatory agencies that govern health care delivery and accreditation as well as programs, policies and physical properties to ensure regulatory compliance of HIPAA, etc. * Identifies and implements opportunities to support clinic operations and build employee morale and individual motivation. Delegates appropriate authority and responsibility to Office Managers. * Works across organizations to implement programs that support the mission of the University of Virginia Health System through synergistic partnerships with Clinical Departments and affiliated groups. * Provides oversight and direction for the recruitment, development, and performance management of CPG staff, non-physician practitioners, and physicians. * Acts as first point of contact between Medical Director(s) and licensed independent practitioners on issues regarding compensation and financial performance. * Manages practice productivity at each clinic, monitors RVUs, and is responsible for related physician and medical staff productivity. * Recommends to CPG Executive Committee programs that identify and resolve operational issues to enhance productivity and efficiency. * Works with CPG Executive Committee and UPG financial management assigned to CPG in preparing budgets to ensure effective satellite operations, plans and directs fiscal management of cost centers, provides data for financial and statistical purposes in collaboration with UPG financial management assigned to CPG. Reviews and approves contracts, invoices, and financial statements. * Develops, recommends and updates strategic short-range and long-range plans to support the group's philosophy and goals and tracks trends to facilitate planning, development and policy making. * Proposes new services and new systems/models of care. * Coordinates with the CPG Executive Committee, support services, and other practice personnel to monitor medical activities and to ensure fulfillment of the community's needs for quality health care. * Serves as the liaison and contact person between satellite offices and institutional resources for all administrative systems at the clinics to include appointment scheduling, patient relations, electronic health record, office controls, and purchasing/accounts payable processes. * Coordinates the marketing and communications plan for each satellite office and supports practice integration within the community to ensure strong public relations. * Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested. * Participates in professional development activities to keep current with health care trends and practices. * Other projects as requested by the CPG Executive Committee and UPG Chief Executive Officer. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: * Undergraduate degree, preferably in health or business administration required Experience: * Three years of experience in healthcare office management required, Supervisory experience in a medical office setting.
