Job Description:

Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager with main focus on the front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with the hiring, training and development of store associates as delegated by the Store Manager

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager

  • Able to perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager

  • Assist the Store Manager in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures including safety guidelines

  • Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates and supervisors

  • Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards to include recovery

  • When the Store Manager is not on the premises, direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates

  • Process all SSC Corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information

  • requests and any additional communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager

  • Assist the Store Manager on the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.

  • Follow the VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures

  • Assist the Store Manager in ensuring proper staffing coverage on a daily basis

  • Assist the Store Manager in ensuring that the sales floor is sales effective on a daily basis

  • Assist in the management of cashiering activities to ensure all company cash handling practices & guidelines are followed at all times by all Associates

  • Promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays

  • Assist in the management of sales effectiveness of seasonal areas in the store

  • Coordinate appropriate signage utilized in the store

  • Assist with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise

  • Process damaged merchandise on a daily basis

  • Assist Store Manager with creation of weekly schedules

  • Assist in the management of store supplies and expense control

  • Assist with merchandising and maintaining the checkout area to maximize impulse sales

  • Ensure coolers and store-front program racks/displays are refilled daily (balloon program, sunglasses, batteries, etc.)

  • Assist with the management of the Drive Item program

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Prefer prior retail and management experience

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills

  • Ability to lift, bend and transport merchandise weighing up to 50lbs

  • Ability to work in a high energy team environment

The Field Operations Manager provides a critical link between the field and technical office staff. The Field Operations Manager directs the field operations comprised of technicians and inspectors, ensuring projects are effectively staffed while remaining cognizant of project financials. The Field Operations Manager will have strong people skills, knowing how to put together the best team for each job. The candidate will be the ultimate Team Player; providing assistance to all groups including accounting, Business Development, and Executive Management. The position will oversee our dispatch department and collaborate with direct reports to monitor staffing levels and screen new inspectors and technicians. Detailed Duties Include: * Manage field technicians and supervise dispatch personnel team, including scheduling, timesheet, and expense report review. * Gather and review field data, daily reports & plans (electronically/paper) from field staff and technicians to QC for errors and make sure they support the approved project documents and building codes. * Assemble field data into report format and present to technical staff for review. * Maintain internal Database for individual projects and dispatching. * Training, performance monitoring, mentoring, of field technicians and inspectors. * Track and maintain inspector and field technician certifications (Caltrans, ACI, ICC, DSA, other specific local municipalities such as City of Los Angeles) * Attend field meetings including but not limited to: preconstruction meetings, project progress meetings, and occasional interviews/sales presentations with the Business Development Team. * Respond to unforeseen field conditions and develop recommendations for resolution. * Coordination with lab for sample collection/delivery and results. * Help administer the corporate on-line safety-training program to all employees as a designated Branch Safety Officer. Qualifications: Project Management Component: * Develop and maintain client relationships in conjunction with the Business Development Team. * Understanding of plans, scope of work, schedules, and budgets for preparation of proposals. * Plan, organize, and assure the top most performance on all client projects to meet contractual schedules and commitments to budgets. Raises concerns on projects experiencing field operation problems with appropriate project manager to keep client abreast of issues. * Regular communication with clients concerning the project's progress and status. * Assist in producing documentation for letters, formal contracts, supplemental work authorization, and documentation of changes in scope as well as notifying clients of project completion. * Regular review of field reports to ensure timely, accurate billing. Requirements/Education: * Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years related experience; preferably in the construction materials testing and inspection industry. * Attention to detail, organized and processes oriented. * Strong communication skills and computer savvy. * Possession of Certified Welding Inspector certification in order to review welding procedures. * Additional inspection certifications highly desirable.
