Description of Duties:

We are hiring individuals with program management, cyber security engineering, systems engineering, operations and sustainment engineering, systems network administration, and unit and administrative security experience to support our U.S Space Force customers at the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC). Our team will sit on-site with our customers who are focused on sustaining America's legacy and next-generation Military Satellite Communication space programs. You will be in the premier space sustainment organization responsible for delivering space-based capabilities and effects to our warfighters and allied partners. Key duties associated with this position include:

  • Position is located at Peterson AFB, Colorado

  • Support integrated logistics and sustainment tasks such as maintenance planning; specification and requirements development; test development execution and monitoring; design and simulation analyses; interface designs; performance predictions;, contractor proposal reviews; functional allocations; requirements traceability; resource allocations; compliance assessments; waiver, deviation and deficiency reviews; establishing maintenance/support concepts; development of training systems, manuals and materials; reliability centered maintenance; and level of repair analyses

  • Support maintenance planning and analyses such as Core Logistics Analysis/Source of Repair Analysis and Depot Source of Repair analysis

  • Support systems engineering requirements analysis activities and derive logistics design constraints (deployment, operational, support assess and select/tailor logistics related standards

  • Assist in defining logistics requirements and determining solutions via trades for the following logistics elements: Supply Support; Support and Test Equipment/Equipment Support; Manpower and Personnel; Training and Training Support; Technical Data / Publications; Computer Resources Support; Facilities; Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T); Design Interface

  • Support systems engineering trade activities and ensure ILS factors are applied to all trades

  • Assist in development of performance-based logistics (PBL) as a strategy for cost-effective system support

  • Assist in preparation of Training Support Packages, coordination of Systems Training Management Plan; and collaboration with AFSPC/S5 on Transfer of Authority TOA

  • Support the development of long-range plans and concepts in order to identify potential opportunities to leverage existing and planned efforts

  • Support the development, analysis, modification, enhancement and maintenance of Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TT&Ps) as alternatives to material solutions

  • Provide SMC/ECP Product Support Integrators, operational SATCOM managers, and satellite system experts with expert-level MILSATCOM systems engineering advisory assistance necessary to fully evaluate and assess system alternatives based upon system operational safety, suitability, effectiveness, and interoperability requirements

  • Perform system-level and system-of-system (enterprise) level engineering, technical, and logistics analysis to identify sustainment activities/problem areas and based on these problem areas, perform impact analysis, forecast potential failures, and accomplish trade studies/options with potential to mitigate these problems

  • Formulate information relevant to SMC/ECP sustainment objectives and perform engineering analysis and system level assessments of baseline change requests, deficiency reports, problem reports, software releases and hardware modifications for SMC/ECP decision support at various recurrent and ongoing meetings and sustainment forums

Basic Qualification:

  • MA/MS degree and 15 years of experience with 10 years of Military Satellite Communications support preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies and practices of operations and sustainment engineering

  • Knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • US Citizenship is required

  • Active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)

This position is to support the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force and Air Defense (AFAD) for three (3) years of operations and maintenance support of the EADGE-T system. The candidate will work in the UAE starting on or about August 2020 for 3yrs, contingent upon approval of the contract. The candidate will work a standard UAE 40-hour work week, having Fridays and Saturdays off, as well as other AFAD declared holidays (thus matching the AFAD work week). Specific responsibilities include: * Work as part of a Sustainment team providing support and of existing radar and sensor interfaces * Ensuring Sensor interface equipment is operational and available at various locations * Provide technical assistance in identifying, isolating, and resoling sensor interface problems in the field. * Hands-on maintenance of various interface cabling and connectors such as Serial, Fiber Optic, Ribbon, Ethernet * Identifies non-conforming customer equipment by comparing captured data against interface control documentation and interface specifications. Interfaces with customer technicians to resolve interface related discrepancies. * Provide corrective action to prevent recurrence of sensor interface related issues * As an engineering SME, provides insight and recommendations to program leadership on technical approaches and disciplines. * Develop, coordinate, and maintain interface sustainment related metrics * Check out sensor interface equipment at sites * This role will include functions involving repairing cables, troubleshooting interfaces, examining equipment and cabling, maintaining, installing, determining operational status of over 13 unique sensor and radar interfaces to the EADGE-T C4ISR system Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree. * Knowledgeable in air and missile defense systems with a background in Military or Civilian Radar and Sensor processing and display. * Strong communication skills, including communicating with foreign customers whose first language is Arabic, and experience in international programs, preferably direct commercial sales, firm fixed price Desired Skills: * Familiar with Strategy and Air Defense Operations * Familiarity with how national air defense is planned and executed * Knowledge of the air operations planning cycle, including utilization of ISR * Knowledge of tactical air defense, including how air tasking orders are used * Working knowledge or Experience with the following sensors: Thales GM-200 Asterix Interface Northrup Grumman TPS-70 and TPS-78 Radars Aerostat video and sensor feeds Siemens DR-162/DR-172 Radars NOVA-9000 Air Traffic Control system * Experience with integrating and testing C4 systems * Experience building serial cables and connectors; performing serial cable testing and troubleshooting * Ability to manage a dynamic and flexible work schedule * Ability to perform tasks at remote sites, and with minimal to no supervision. * Experience with secure and reliable networks and network management and Experience debugging serial and ethernet based computer interfaces. * Experience integrating with sensors and weapons, including troubleshooting and reverse engineering.
