Description:Responsible for one of five Commander aimpoint/technology focus area for the future innovation. Coordinates research and Development timeline and funding for multiple Information Technology related projects.
De-conflicts and synchronizes efforts with other technology areas as required. Leverage partner resources; develop and submit requirements for rapid development and fielding of critical technology to the command.
In coordination with the J5 and supported units, develops and publishes the future Technology Operating Environment document, focused on mission sets between 5-10 years in the future. Develops the Technology RDT&E Roadmap for the Command.
Coordinate advance technology projects with the National Laboratories (ORNL, LLNL, LANL), Service laboratories, DARPA and DIU for the Enterprise. Builds relationships and cooperative agreements for research and development with relevant academic institutions and industry. Coordinate technology focused events with SOFWRTXs and academic partners (Carolina Research Institute, Naval Postgraduate Schools, Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley, ect).
Prepares briefings and regular updates for senior leadership within the command, including the CG's Bi Weekly Technology Synch, the Tech Standup with the Chief Technology Officer, quarterly Commander's Decision Round Table (CDRT), and weekly J8 SITREP to the Commander. Develop message, coordination and synchronization with current and potential innovation partners in academia, government, industry and critical international military partners in order to benefit the command's mission.
Prepares white papers, trip reports, information papers, decision briefs, executive summaries, and utilizes the Decision Tracker and Social cast for developing and communicating critical documents for the Command. As needed, plan and execute innovation synuch conferences, meeting and VTCs with the technology Community of Interest.
Attends conferences, symposiums, working groups and developmental sessions for relevant technology areas. Serves and the eyes and ears for the command for technology scouting and cutting edge innovation that will directly benefit the command and its critical mission sets.
Comprehensive knowledge of military organizational structures, and the functional interrelationships.
Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office Suite to include SharePoint and InfoPath, Social Cast.
Must be able to obtain and maintain necessary security qualifications
Must be able to work well with public as well as with co-workers
Must be a self-starter and work independently with no or minimum guidance and be willing to listen and work with others
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Vast knowledge in computers
Joint military service experience
