Operational Risk Manager Enterprise Risk

The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for partnering with Signature Bank's risk leaders and lines of business to address risks associated with inadequate internal controls, systems or external resources. ORM is a key function in Signature Bank's enterprise risk program. The Operational Risk Manager plays an instrumental role in the oversight of the bank's operational risk strategy.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage operational risks in accordance with the established risk management framework. Identify, evaluate, monitor and establish risk policies, strategies and annual plans.

  • Collaborate with Bank leaders to enhance tools, practices, and policies.

  • Manage the risk control self-assessment (RCSA) cycle. Perform root cause analysis, assess risks, document incidents and provide recommendations for resolution.

  • Lead the effort in identifying, implementing and managing governance, risk and compliance (GRC) tools.

  • Participate in various risk oversight committees; coordinate and lead the Operational Risk subcommittee.

  • Generate reports and prepare executive presentations.


  • Minimum 6 years of related work experience in the Financial Services industry. Risk Management experience in the banking industry strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management or related field of study.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of banking rules and regulations to include extensive knowledge of operational risk principles.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work effectively with all levels of staff and build solid relationships across the organization. Comfortable in presenting ideas and facilitating group meetings.

  • Flexible with ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.

  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to problem solve and provide solutions.

  • Good organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

The Third Party Information Security Risk Assessment team currently has a great opportunity for an individual with experience Third Party risk management. This role will work to refine the Third Party Information Security program, strategy and domain materials and will serve as a point of contact across the organization for consistency of third party oversight activities. This position manages the Third Party Risk Assessment Services & Site Review Team. This team supports Wells Fargo's Information Security and Third Party Risk Management programs by providing information security risk assessment services that identify, evaluate, and document information security risks associated with the use of third party service providers that provide products and services to or on behalf of Wells Fargo. Primary responsibilities include: * Active participation in audit and regulatory issue remediation * Creation and maintenance of program document(s) and strategy material * Engage and coordinate with other teams with Information Security (EIS) to ensure Third Party Domain activities are completed within required Service Level Agreements (SLA) The successful candidate will be responsible for three distinct functions: Coordination & Preparation that requires the incumbent to partner with Third Party Program to identify those Third Parties that meet specific criteria for Information Security Assessments. For third parties that meet criteria, this position oversees the partnership with senior executives from both Wells Fargo LOBs and our Third Parties to communicate and schedule onsite and/or remote information security assessments. The scheduling of the assessments requires knowledge of both the function that the third party performs for Wells Fargo and the assessor's technical skill sets to ensure assessors with highly technical capabilities are partnered with those Third Parties that deliver technology capabilities versus those Third Parties that deliver lower level technology processes and/or services. This role manages the technology oversight for the Site Review Tool (SRT) which is the application which is leveraged to capture and store assessment results for all assessment types.
