Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) offers technology and services that exceed Wells Fargo customers' expectations and directly enable them to succeed financially. Technology Risk Management resides within the Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) organization. Its functions improve how we own, assess, manage, and report technology risks, while ensuring that we have strong technology risk expertise, employ the concept of risk management as a utility operationalizing for efficiency, and move us to progressive risk management based on data and analytical processes. The Central Risk Services Team resides within the Technology Risk Management function and has responsibility for Risk Assessments, Audit & Issue Management, Reporting, Metrics, Cross Functional Programs and a newly formed function which will serve as an independent tollgate across EIT issue management with a focus on our most critical programs across EIT Issue Assurance.

This role will manage the Issue Assurance function. In this role you will leverage your understanding to review and provide an opinion on the success of remediation efforts from all Group Technology areas. Your main responsibilities are:

  • Reviewing remediation actions submitted by the business for closure to assess whether these have addressed the relevant original risks (root cause)

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and being "an agent of change", particularly in relation to the issue assurance framework

  • Ensuring that previously taken remediation actions have been sustained

  • Encouraging and facilitating our approach, including cross-functional / cross divisional cooperation and eliminating any form of silo mentality

  • Contributing proactively towards developing detailed procedures, guidance and FAQs for the issue assurance process as well as identifying, assessing and prioritizing process improvements and system enhancements

  • This is a highly visible role requiring strong interpersonal skills, organizational capabilities, presentation skills and leadership capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 8+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 4+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
  • 3+ years of management experience

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience within an Enterprise Technology function or Technology Risk function with demonstrated knowledge of technology systems, applications, infrastructure and emerging technology and associated risks in a business environment

  • 5+ years demonstrated leadership skills and strategic ability to execute operational risk management programs

  • Experience managing information technology oversight programs that align to a Technology Business function (i.e. consumer, commercial, infrastructure, capital markets and or wealth/brokerage etc.)

  • Experience in compliance, operational risk, IT systems security, business process mgmt. or financial services (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk).

  • Broad and significant knowledge of technology and the associated challenges, risks and required controls

  • inherent in a complex federated environment, including knowledge of SDLC, Architecture, Cloud, Datacenter,

  • Vendor and third party, BCP, PMO, Change Mgmt, Problem and Incident Management, SOX and other Regulations (ADA, SWAP Dealer), Access management, Asset Management, Compliance, IS, Audit.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Technology and Security risk framework COBIT, FFIEC, NIST, ITIL, COSO, BASEL, and OCC Heightened Standards

  • Track record of providing constructive challenge with appropriate issue escalation and offering solution

  • Strong ability and experience working with and collaborating with leaders and team members at all levels and across functional lines

  • Demonstrated ability to manage in a matrix environment both domestically and internationally

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of strategic elements of financial, operational, technical and regulatory environments across a complex global services environment

The EIS Policy team is responsible for managing the Information Security Policy, Standards, Solutions, and Control environment for the WF enterprise. As part of managing these processes they must maintain constant awareness of financial regulatory requirements (FFIEC, NIST, COBIT, ISO 27002, PCI DSS) to ensure the WF IS Policy program meets legal and regulatory requirements. The Policy team reviews and analyzes existing policies to evaluate and determine if existing standards are adequate, new policies are required or if existing policies are now obsolete. If new policies are required, resources work with SME's across the enterprise to identify required technical requirements to draft policies, standards and solutions to provide structure and guidance designed to demonstrate "strong" risk management principals and to prevent, detect and respond against internal and external threats to ensure service delivery for our internal and external customers adapting to the emerging threats. SME's partner with LOB's to support identification of actions for LOB's to adapt and support their customers through potential activities.
