What are the primary responsibilities in the Operational Orbit Analyst position?
Monitor the results of an astrodynamics software system and take corrective action as needed
Analyze results through applying a solid understanding of the underlying algorithms and subject matter
Work closely with developers to identify software and algorithm issues
Work closely with data providers to identify data issues
Develop tools to improve efficiency and identify anomalous performance
Provide suggestions for improvements to both software and work flow
What required background will make you successful?
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering (preferred), Astronomy, Applied Physics, or other equivalent field of discipline, or relevant work experience
Understanding of astrodynamics fundamentals
Familiarity with Linux operating systems
Basic scripting skills in one of the following languages (python, csh, bash)
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to effectively and concisely communicate issues
Ability to identify and address issues quickly and effectively
Self-starter with excellent follow through and the ability to stay focused
Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
Basic database skills (run SQL scripts, write simple SQL queries)
Familiarity with orbit determination / estimation theory
Familiarity with maneuver planning, reconstruction and characterization
Where is the position located?
This position can be located in our Tucson, AZ or Centennial, CO office.
