The Systematic Human Error Reduction via Process Analysis (SHERPA) Program Leader drives, coordinates and executes a complex improvement project from concept to demonstrated performance outcomes for all of Vacaville. The SHERPA Program Leader will manage a portfolio of organizationally aligned, ROI driven projects to improve the efficiency and reduce error rates of the Manufacturing, Facilities, Quality, and MSAT processes. The SHERPA project is strategically aligned with the organizational goals to deliver reduced deviations and improved right first time performance. At Vacaville, the SHERPA program includes the improvement of manufacturing processes and automation instructions that guide execution of work. The role is accountable for program performance, application of accepted improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma), measurement, analysis, improvement planning and reporting of project results. With minimal guidance, the position encompasses project management, consultation, facilitation, data abstraction, analytics and interpretation, change management and sustainability planning.

Leadership & People Management:
Establish strong working relationships with interdisciplinary members of their embedded team including frontline staff, engineers, mechanics, operational areas owners, quality, leaders and support services.
Manage a cross-functional team, may manage 1-2 direct reports and will have input into the team's performance management reviews.

Performs data analysis, root cause analysis, customer interviews etc to define and scope opportunities
Challenges all site functions/areas in problem solving and continuous improvement
Drives business data analysis to look for trends, and recommend improvements
Effectively partner with management to understand root causes for gaps and identify potential issues between existing and desired business and/or performance results and recommend best plans for resolutions that will contribute to closing identified gaps.

Science of Engineering BS / BA required, MBA a plus; 12-15 years of business/operations experience, 10 - 13 years with a Masters; 7 - 10 years with a PhD
Demonstrated 3-5 years of direct improvement experience in an operations environment
Minimum Lean Sensei and/or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent skillset preferred, such as Green Belt certified with proven strong analytical capability.
cGMP expertise preferred.
Biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience a plus.
Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement programs with quantifiable business results.
7 or more years professional experience (e.g. manufacturing, quality, materials management), depending on hiring level
Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement programs with quantifiable business results and lean transformation

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Safety Considerations:
Ability to work a 12 hour shift schedule 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am 3 day/4day work week to support 24x7 operations
Ability to work within a clean room environment.
Lifting up to 15 lbs. may be required
Standard work requires significant amount of keying and mousing. Must be able to accommodate extended periods of computer usage to meet business needs.
Ability to stand or sit for at least 6 hours each day.
