What a Manufacturing Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Manufacturing Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Manufacturing function.


  • Must observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed. Responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions.

  • Must understanding and comply with all current plant policies and procedures.

  • Must lead plant improvement projects of significant size and scope.

  • Will assist plant management in selecting and "knitting" (1) projects, (2) project/team leaders and (3) champions that align with business/functional goals and strategies.

  • Will keep the plant project hopper updated with new project ideas and discards low value projects.

  • Will ensure plant project tracking dashboard and plant OpEx scorecard are maintained and results are communicated monthly.

  • Must communicate Operational Excellence information/news to plant personnel.

  • Must assist in the coordination and deployment of the plant Operational Excellence plan.

  • Must assist leadership in establishing baseline and target metrics for key processes,

  • Will coordinate, and conduct as applicable, training in key Operational Excellence areas.

  • Must support the Operational Excellence Manager (MBB) in the overall deployment of OPEX training, best practice sharing and in mentoring project teams and leaders.

  • Must manage the duties of process engineers and one (1) clerical. Establish goals (objectives and drive results meet goals/requirement of the facility.

  • Must complete Black Belt training and Lean Certifications within two (2) years as Plant OpEx Manager.

  • Must be able to directly lead and/or coordinate high impact process improvement projects.

  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Must work with production department in identifying waste reduction opportunities to maximize positive material variances.

  • Maintain/establish Bill of Materials for all new codes. Supply to planning.

  • Maintain Frozen Bill of Materials for all codes/SKU's.


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in related field required, graduate degree preferred

  • A minimum of 4+ years related work experience required, including 1+ year supervisory experience

  • Demonstrated success in managing people and leading multiples teams and/or departments

  • Strong communication skills

  • Demonstrated success in achieving results along with strong financial acumen and project management

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Reporting to the Plant Manager, thisperson will provide engineering management and Continuous Improvementleadership for the Greenwood manufacturing facility (one of Eaton's largestfacilities in North America). Additionally, this position is responsible for driving the execution anddeployment of robust manufacturing processes and continuous improvement/manufacturingefficiency initiatives across the organization. This person will also plan, coordinate, and direct OperationalExcellence programs designed to ensure the long-term success of strategicbusiness initiatives and related goals; and support programs that enhanceISO9000, and drive ISO14001 activities and improve ISO program components. Essential Responsibilities: * Support the Quality Control functions and related quality assurance activities for all products manufactured by the locations * Plan and manage statistical control activities to ensure the conformance of manufactured products/ equipment with customer specifications and their unique product performance requirements * Drive process improvements through the understanding and use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools (ELSS) * Guide, direct, maintain and monitor all activities associated with the successful application of Eaton's Quality Award process (EBE) * Recommend, develop, and manage plans to improve production and office processes and results, to include ELSS, EQS, EBS and other tools * Monitor financial impact resulting from cost reduction programs and report as expected to ES and PDO-A managers and systems * Maintain contact with customers for the purpose of effective product quality and manufacturing communications * Participate on corporate ELSS council functions * Lead Greenwood plant EBE efforts * Benchmark other Eaton plants for best practices. Share local best practices with other Eaton locations * Work with stakeholders across PDCA Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Finance and Operations to ensure end-to-end Operational goals are met/ exceeded Basic Qualifications: * Minimum 5 years of experience in Operations or Manufacturing. * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. * Builds and leverages key relationship across various business units/function * Willing to travel up to 10% Position Criteria: * Must possess persuasive skills required of human relations and leadership * Must be able to express ideas clearly to direct, motivate and train subordinates * Must be able to communicate clearly to management, professionals, exempt and non-exempt employees in all matters concerning production, quality, safety and product design * Extensive knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma techniques * Strong knowledge of business systems and manufacturing processes required Preferred Qualifications: * Minimum 2 years of prior Management experience * Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Education: Anundergraduate degree is required.
