Job Description:

Seeking an Air Force Aviation Analyst to support to the Operational Energy office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force in a position located at Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), Barksdale AFB, LA.

In this role, you will assist the Air Force Operational Energy Office addressing a broad range of issues associated with Air Force Operations and future technologies from an operational perspective.

Primary Responsibilities;

A) Conduct analysis of day-to-day AFGSC flight operations practices to determine how changes in policy, procedures, and techniques can reduce operational energy expenditure

B) Facilitate senior officer communication/education relating to advances in the field of operational energy from AFRL and commercial industry.

C) Support advocacy, outreach, and engagement efforts on behalf of SAF/IEN to stakeholders in the Global Strike enterprise

D) Develop Business Case Analyses on potential aviation energy efficiency initiatives for aircraft and 3rd party applications

E) Lead other aviation energy efficiency projects

F) Perform analysis on potential and existing aviation fuel efficiency initiatives

G) Develop aviation energy efficiency issues for consideration as input to the Program Objective Memorandum budget submission

H) Develop and assess aviation energy metrics to develop opportunities for energy savings measures

I) Participate in Energy Working Groups

Preferred Qualifications;

  • Knowledge of Air Force Global Strike Command Operations preferred. AFGSC Staff level experience preferred, specifically in the Operations Division or the Plans, Programs, and Requirements Division.

  • Experience with Technical Writing and strong communication skills preferred.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires a BA degree and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.

Processes these emissions utilizing unique and proprietary OEM software and algorithms. Must be skilled in digital signal processing techniques, database management, and their relationships with associated equipment and systems. Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of ELINT operational procedures to include mission planning, concept of operations, and mission execution. May conduct search and/or exploitation of data from various sources to prepare operational and/or technical reports. Provides detailed technical advice to military operators regarding target acquisition, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination strategies. Individual must have a strong working knowledge of applicable sensor system(s) and be able to provide military operators on-the-job training on specific system software functionality and system products as well as analysis and reporting skills. Coordinates with site personnel and the OEM contractor(s) in the support of CETS operations during all real-time operations, operational testing, and during both pre-mission and post-mission activities. During real-time operations, responsible for constantly monitoring sub-system health and actively intervening to resolve any detected problems with the CETS system/sensor while maximizing system availability. Develops procedures to operate and support the system's military operators when technical data is unavailable or inadequate. Prior operational experience with the CETS system is required. Knowledge of UNIX operating system and networking is highly desired. Individual is considered mission essential and must be qualified to support AF DCGS operations under adverse conditions and hostilities. Shift work, weekend work, and on-call support is required. Individual must also support the requirements of the USAF "worldwide deployable program" and be capable of deploying in minimum time to meet mission requirements.
