Coeur Rochester, a subsidiary of Coeur Mining, Inc., is seeking a Senior Mine Geologist for its open pit Rochester Silver-Gold Mine, located northeast of Lovelock, Nevada. Reporting to the Geology Manager, the Senior Geologist will provide strategic input and decision making for ore control, geologic mapping, geotechnical monitoring and near mine exploration drilling programs.
This role will work operate on a 4 days on, 3 days off schedule.
Assume a key role in the Rochester Mine Geology, Drilling, Geotechnical and Ore Control programs.
Monitor and implement ore control systems and mine geology activities.
Supervise infill and near mine exploration drilling programs.
Assist with QA/QC protocols, geostatistical investigations, geologic and resource model construction.
Map and sample mine benches and blast holes. Maintain the mine's geologic maps.
Log Reverse Circulation drill chips or Diamond Drill core and help maintain data in acQuire database.
Track and report the drill program footages to allow invoice approvals and month-end accruals.
Coordinate with engineering and operations personnel on short term, mid-range and LOM plans.
Coordinate drill site preparation and final collar pick-up.
Help prepare monthly geology reports.
Perform strenuous physical activities and be able to lift multiple 40 lb. samples on a daily basis.
Perform all work in a safe manner in compliance with Company's safety and environmental policies.
Bachelors of Science in geology or equivalent earth sciences degree.
Minimum 7 years of progressive mining industry experience, with at least 3 years as a mine geologist at a hard rock, metals mine.
Strong academic and applied background in structural geology and epithermal Au-Ag systems.
Familiar with MS Office Suite Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Familiar with database software - acQuire experience preferred
Familiar with GIS software ArcGIS experience preferred.
Familiar with Geologic Modeling software Vulcan or Leapfrog experience preferred.
Ability to collect field data and integrate to a three dimensional interpretation of complex mineralized systems.
Excellent organizational, presentation, communications, and effective supervisory skills.
Ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful, mature and flexible.
Ability to work in multiple-task environment and properly assign priorities.
Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but able to recognize and support organization's priorities and preferences.
