Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Operating Room: Orderly / Custodian / Environmental Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in all areas of the facility in accordance with the facility quality standards.

• Provides a safe and clean environment for patients and personnel.

• Maintains knowledge of safe use and potential dangers with cleaning chemicals.

• Vacuums, dusts, and mops facility according to established schedule.

• Disposes of facility waste as appropriate.

• Assists in patient transportation.

• Assists in operating room turnover by cleaning rooms between cases.

• Removes and replaces sharps containers as necessary.

• Accurately completes environmental logs for Refrigerator temperatures, OR temperatures, and humidity.

• Assists in stocking and replenishing supplies.

• Maintains adequate cleaning supplies and notifies purchaser of other needed supplies.

• Assist in specimen transportation.

• Assist in emergency situations as directed.

• Reports to supervisor needed repairs or maintenance of equipment or building.

• Attends and participates in staff meetings, and in-service programs.

• Assists in preparation for and compliance with regulatory agency inspections.

• Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".

• Other duties as assigned.

BLS certification required

At least (1) year experience preferred
