The Operating Room Assistant / ORA III will perform specific nursing-related duties in providing for the personal and environment care and comfort of patients ranging in age from infant to geriatric. The ORA III will work in a structured environment under the supervision of a Specialty Team Coordinator. The ORA III will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care in accordance with the units and departments approved standards, policies and procedures.

SCHEDULE:

Fulltime, Monday Friday, Day Shift

Responsibilities include:

Functions and has ability to set up anesthesia lines.

Knowledgeable in both operation and care of specialized instruments and equipment

Assists anesthesia staff in the care of patients ranging from pediatric to geriatrics

Preceptor to new ORAs, provides input to evaluation of new hires, assists with developmental orientation material.

Assumes lead ORA functions as assigned and assumes call duty.

Requirements:

Certified Anesthesia Technician preferred.

Previous Operating Room Assistant II, anesthesia tech or related Health Care experience required.

Successful completion of orientation required. Successfully complete ORA III exam with 80% or greater grade.

We are looking for an Assistant Nurse Manager for our Level II Trauma Center Operating Room. This position collaborates with the Nurse Manager to ensure safe, efficient and economical operation of the department. With 14 Operating Rooms and 1 dedicated Urology Suite, the patient population ranges from Trauma, Ortho, General, Vascular, GYN / GU, Plastics, Neuro / Spine, GI, ENT, Hearts, and more. With a large team of Nurses, Surgical Techs, and other ancillary staff, this Magnet-Status OR team is focused on patient safety and quality measures. Primary responsibilities would include (but are not limited to): * Administrative duties will make up 50% or more of work time * Utilizes the Performance Management process of planning, coaching, evaluating and developing to evaluate the performance of the unit personnel in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, Supervisor and Educators * Prepares monthly staffing schedules and adjusts staffing levels relative to patient flow and collaborates with staffing office. * Participates in the interview and selection process of applicants for unit staffing positions * Assists the Clinical Educator with the scheduling of and orientation of new personnel * Assists in the completion of payroll including correction of errors, tracking benefit balance and ensuring leaves of absence input by staffing office * Promotes the annual unit(s) goals, utilizing a participative approach. Assists in assuring implementation and evaluation of these goals * Acts as a liaison and effectively interacts with physicians, staff, patients and significant others and serves as a resource person and role model to all staff members. * Supports the quality improvement process including monthly QI indicators, patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction programs SCHEDULE: Fulltime, 40HRS Monday – Friday: day shift REQUIREMENTS: * Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing * Current PA RN / Registered Nurse License * BSN Required, MSN or other related Masters Degree completed or near completion * At least 3-5 years of clinical experience in the Operating Room required. * Prior management, supervisor, charge, coordinator, or other related leadership experience is desired * CNOR highly preferred * BLS / CPR required * Ability to communicate proficiently in English to perform job duties.
