Functions

  • Responsible for completing production & facility equipment inspections, maintenance and repairs for various equipment and production lines on assigned Bakery shifts.
  • Provide technical assistance on machinery to Production Operators and Supervisors in the Bakery application.
  • Conduct ongoing preventative visual inspections of Bakery's production equipment & facility equipment and provide all scheduled/non-scheduled maintenance and repair as required.
  • Provide on-call repair service for production machinery and equipment.
  • Read, study and review manuals and relevant literature to stay current on new equipment and the updating of existing equipment.
  • Complete preventative maintenance reports and other documents to communicate status of equipment and action required for effective operation of facility and/or production equipment.
  • Enter key equipment data and reports into a computerized maintenance system.
  • Work over 40 hours in a work week and over 8 hours in a day as needed. This position requires the working of overtime as well as some weekend work.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Communicate and participate in group meetings on issues such as group performance, goals, safety and productivity.
  • Follow all applicable Safety and Health policies and practices. Be prepared to inform supervisions and other co-workers about unsafe or unhealthy conditions observed in the workplace.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school Graduate
  • Technical Diploma or training in a mechanical Field would be a plus
  • A completed Apprenticeship of formal job training program would be preferred.
  • Years of Experience: Five years applied experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment, preferably in the food processing industry.
  • LME license preferred.

Industrial or Commercial Boilers Air compressors and Compressed Air Systems Air condition, Heating and Ventilation Systems Refrigeration systems Industrial Chillers Bulk Powder conveyance systems Industrial Blowers Pneumatics Hydraulics Pumps and piping systems

Special Requirements

Ability to work any shift and overtime; ability to work with minimal supervision and function effectively in a highly demanding environment; excellent ability to read and interpret all types of blueprints; ability to work within close tolerances; ability to interact effectively with outside vendors, production operators, team leads, and members of other trades.

Required to wear respirator occasionally.

3) Visual Acuity requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision:

Job functions include Machine operating, Close Equipment Inspections, Machine assembly and disassembly using wrenches and tools, working alongside production operators and other skilled trade's people, read manuals and operations instructions, clerical administrative duties and work at a computer terminal.

4) Environmental factors:

Subject to both inside and outside working conditions.

Subject to extreme heat, above 100 degrees for more than one hour.

Subject to vibrations affecting extremities or whole body.

Subject to hazards: moving machinery, electrical current, high places, chemicals, heat.

Subject to atmospheric conditions: Fumes, dust, odors, mists, gasses, oils.

5) Salary

Union $35.16/hr, second shift 2pm-11pm= $.75 and third shift 11pm-6am $1.5)

6) Schedule

Monday to Friday 8 hours with OT and weekends flexibility.
