The engineer will provide consulting services in DevOps, to work with Client teams and drive the DevOps journey, starting with the implementation of Client’s RedHat OpenShift tool.
He or she will guide the Client in preparing the design roadmap, implementing the tool, structure the modules and assist with writing, testing and deploying new code.
Candidate should be able to work without supervision and should possess strong leadership qualities and proficient technology skills to work in a multi-business unit environment.

Travel as required to work from the client’s location.

Requirements

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in cloud and hybrid-cloud computing with OpenShift; thereby becoming a trusted advisor to influential decision makers
  • Provide end-to-end technical guidance and expertise on how to effectively use OpenShift as PaaS to build solutions; creatively applying cloud infrastructure and platform services to help solve business problems; and communicating these approaches to different business audiences in designated industries
  • Represent and facilitate OpenShift solution architecture in discovery discussions with prospective clients, assess architecture needs for projects, work with Development leads and Designers to scope and craft proposals
  • Work with clients and IBM teams to identify business problems and provide innovative solutions to them while evangelizing and accelerating the adoption of current and future OpenShift technologies
  • Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, implementation, testing, customer training, and deployment of open source solutions
  • Work to harvest best practices and document lessons learned as part of continuous improvement of our offerings
  • Experience as a consultant, system architect or implementation lead, operating in a senior capacity in the open source community
  • Experience with CI/CD principles
  • Strong OpenShift deployment and troubleshooting skills
  • Hands on experience with Puppet, Chef and Ansible
  • Red Hat Satellite
  • BS degree in computer science, MIS or related field

Your Opportunity Water Resources EIT or Engineer to be located in our Austin, TX office. This engineering consulting role will support water resources planning and management and infrastructure projects for municipal, regional, state, and federal water-related agencies and organizations throughout Texas and other locations. As the successful candidate, you will use your technical abilities to assist in a wide variety of projects in a dynamic planning and design team setting. Your Key Responsibilities * Participate in multi-disciplinary teams on water resources projects across Texas. * Conduct technical evaluations supporting planning and design of water supply, flood risk management, and environmental restoration projects. * Support project management activities associated with the planning and execution of water resources planning and engineering projects. * Coordinate with project managers, project engineers, clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors. * Perform project administration, including preparing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, completing progress reports, and conducting project management. * Support engineering and senior project staff in producing high quality work products for our water clients. * Tasks may include: performing feasibility studies, water (hydraulic, hydrologic, or system operation) modeling, engineering calculations, preparing planning and technical engineering reports, research, data entry. * Maintain consistently high standards of delivery, quality, flexibility, and innovation. * Participate in local efforts to identify, pursue, and win new projects and work. * Assist with site visits and field investigations as necessary. * Perform other duties as required. Your Capabilities and Credentials * Sound understanding of water resources, including planning and management and design, such as: * Water allocation, reservoir operation, water system hydrologic and temperature models * Engineering feasibility analyses and design * Hydrology and hydraulics * Integrated water management, including water systems and hydrologic modeling * Planning and design of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, including conveyance, storage, pumping, and treatment * An understanding of Texas water resources (including river systems/water-related infrastructure and applicable laws/policies/regulations) and federal/state planning processes * Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Access. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience. * Commitment to client satisfaction and the delivery of high quality work products. * The ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction. * Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering or related field. Master's degree desirable. Engineer in Training (EIT) accreditation desired, with a commitment to obtain registration as a Professional Engineer in the near future. 0-3 years of experience in the planning and design of municipal water, wastewater, storm water management, or water resources. For candidates who are finishing school, relevant internships and work experience during school will be considered. Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License. Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
