Maxar has a need for an open-source Intelligence (OSINT) Analyst on our team at a customer site in Reston, VA.  In this role you will be part of a talented team using various sources of data against challenging, high visibility and high impact projects.

Day-to-Day with your Colleagues:

  • Deep understanding of or subject-matter expertise in open-source research techniques, social media exploitation, and social network analysis using managed attribution

  • Able to conduct pattern of life analysis and make analytical judgement calls based on PAI and other sourcing and reporting

  • Adept at researching published reporting, viewing imagery, and applying open-source methodologies to resolve intelligence gaps

  • Able to understand and apply multiple intelligence disciplines when crafting finished products or briefings

  • Apply knowledge and experience using open-source research methodologies and confuscation techniques when analyzing foreign technical publications, websites, foreign government publications and other data sets and resolve critical intelligence gaps.

  • Conduct outreach to community experts and mission partners to maintain awareness of community activities impacting AOIs

  • Create finished open-source intelligence reports (OSIRs) and briefings based on exploratory findings in accordance with division SOP and agency standards

  • Perform peer-to-peer quality review of intelligence reports and provide constructive feedback

  • Share your expertise with other analysts through leadership and mentoring

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and be willing and able to obtain CI polygraph

  • 2.5 years of open-source analysis experience for mid with 6 years total relevant experience AND a bachelor's degree; 3.5 years of open-source analysis experience for senior with 10 years total relevant experience AND a master's degree

  • Experience conveying complex information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

  • Able to engage successfully in QA/QC process, to include constructive criticism and feedback, with tech editors and dissemination officers

  • Comprehensive understanding of internet protocols, common ports, domain name servers (DNS), virtual private networks (VPNs), and managed attribution.

  • Must be a highly motivated, self-driven team player who can interact well with others and advise/consult with other team members and customers on intelligence collection and analysis issues.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with managed attribution internet systems and confuscation tradecraft.

  • Subject matter expertise in another INT (SIGINT, IMINT, GEOINT) and able to apply a multi-INT approach to analysis

  • Comprehensive understanding of various collection disciplines, collection platforms and capabilities

  • Advanced understanding of user agent strings and metadata associated with computer-to-computer communications.

  • Understanding and expertise in location-based analysis using multi-INT data sources

  • Experience utilizing advanced mapping analysis tools, such as ArcPro, to develop interactive webmaps and storyboards

  • Possess the technical skill, knowledge, and experience to work with minimal oversight

  • Previous experience working a hard target mission

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$96,000.00 - $160,000.00 annually.
