Job Description

This position is a full-time, tenure-track, 9-month position with primary teaching responsibility on the Stephenville campus. The responsibilities of this position include teaching courses to support our new Specialist in School Psychology program, along with related courses in other undergraduate and/or graduate programs in the department, supervise practicum and clinical internship experiences, developing and maintaining community partnerships necessary for the students' clinical training, and collaborating with partner schools and community agencies. Research area of specialization is open, but primary consideration will be given to candidates who contribute to the department's expertise in school psychology and/or clinical psychology and complement existing research strengths among the department's faculty. There are two open positions for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

60% Teaching and Service: Teach graduate and undergraduate courses related to applicant's demonstrated area of expertise in the psychological sciences. The applicant will be expected to develop and implement an effective teaching program to support the department's teaching mission, using appropriate teaching methods, technology, and other tools as applicable. Maintain appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry. Participate in institutional service roles such as, but not limited to, university committees, club sponsorship, advisory committees, and student recruitment.

40% Research: Develop a sustainable, nationally recognized, externally-funded research program in a demonstrated area of expertise within the psychological sciences.

Required Qualifications

• Must have an earned doctoral degree in School Psychology (ABD will be considered) or other closely related field from an accredited institution;

• Must hold (or be eligible for) the Specialist in School Psychology license (LSSP) and/or the Licensed Psychologist (LP) from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists;

• Must have prior experience working in PreK-12 educational settings with children and their families in assessment, consultation, and intervention;

• Must have a record of research and scholarly activity commensurate with the rank at which the individual will be hired.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate of a NASP (National Association of School Psychologists) accredited program; Experience as a practicing school psychologist;

• Successful teaching experience in school psychology or related field;

• Experience with supervision of school psychology students at the graduate level.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability in the discipline and showing clear promise of teaching excellence as evidenced in evaluation by peers, department head, and college dean. Documented yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching and service.
