POSITION SUMMARY:

USF Health, Tampa General Hosptial, and the Florida Orthopedic Institute are starting a pediatric orthopedic service line. The intent of this position is to recruit a Chief for this Division.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Outpatient clinic, outpatient and inpatient surgery.

• Teaching and precepting residents as assigned through the residency coordinator.

• Recruiting new pediatric orthopedic surgeons to join the service line, managing the program alongside hospital and outpatient clinic leadership.

• Work within current research project and bring new research opportunities to the department.

• Other duties as assigned by Chair.

• Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
  
  Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

• For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.

• The Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Florida Orthopedic Applicant must be a trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon in good standing.

• Florida licensed or eligible.

• Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery.

PREFERRED:

• 7-10 years of experience as a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon, academic experience with rank at or above Associate Professor.
