The Department of Teaching and Leading (T&L) at in the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) at Augusta University (AU) is seeking an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor for a full-time, tenure-track position in Educational Leadership. This position emphasizes engaging teaching, fostering community in the classroom, and promoting student success. The position further requires the candidate to maintain an active research agenda, which includes regular publications, professional presentations, and external grant submissions.

Responsibilities

Teaching

  • 60% Developing and teaching graduate-level courses in Educational Leadership and other courses as needed. Supervising fieldwork.

Scholarship

  • 30% Conducting and mentoring research. Publishing scholarship.

    Pursuing external funding. Participating in other scholarly activity.

Service

  • 10% Providing service to the college, the university, the community, and the profession.

Required Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or closely related field. Have experience teaching higher education. Have demonstrated capacity for a robust research agenda with the potential for a national and/or international.

Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member

Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Per Board of Regents (BOR) policy, Professors must have a terminal degree.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation.

Evidence of ability as a teacher.

Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.

Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,

Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Educational Leadership, program development, program revision, K-12 teaching and/or leadership experience, higher education teaching and leadership, experience in research in P-20 settings, and a demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty, and to mentor students.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
