Position Summary
Supervised by the HR Coordinator. Open Access Fitness Technicians are responsible for monitoring access and participant use of Open Access Fitness Center Lab Hours. This is a temporary position and expected to end on 06/21/2024. Extension of the position pending on funding availability.
Open Access Fitness Center Lab Hours are set each quarter based on Health Physical Education courses and the Wellness Center-Intramural Fitness advisory board.
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Pay rate: $17.50/hour
The successful candidate is expected to work 6 hours per week. This position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits because eligibility is limited only to employees working at least an average of 80 hours in eligible employment for more than 6 consecutive months and at least 8 hours a month. Eligible positions are eligible for certain benefits.

About the Department
Employee Wellness supports the entire campus with fitness and wellness classes, as well as nutritional and fitness ideas. This program is housed within Human Resources.
Essential Functions
Open Access Fitness Center Lab: Job Responsibilities
This position requires employees to demonstrate effective communication skills, time management skills, an appreciation for differing viewpoints, willingness to accept responsibility, and a sincere interest in helping others.

Minimum Qualifications
Exercise Education Experience
Completion of BC Personal Fitness Trainer (PFT) program OR exercise related employment experience of at least 1 year
