Job Description
A structural steel erection onsite project manager is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of the assigned project while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc.
Ensures all contractual terms and obligations of such projects are maintained.
Ensure project meets schedule and cost requirements.
Prepares reports for management.
Meets with key personnel to ensure timeliness of project.
Meets and confers with Owner, Architect, Engineers, Contractors, Detailers, and Field crews to verify accuracy and completeness of all construction drawings.
Ensure all aspects of projects are properly and thoroughly documented.
Directs and monitors activities being completed by project teams to ensure the overall quality of work. Partner's with IW project supervisory personnel to coordinate that all corporate and project goals are achieved.
Issue and manage change order requests to customer
Manage monthly billing process for assigned project
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:
S. in Construction Management, Construction Technology or Civil Engineering degree, or equivalent steel erection management & Ironworker leadership experience preferred.
Five (5) years minimum project management experience with emphasis on structural steel erection.
Computer experience and fluency with MS Office & MS Project.
AISC and AWS experience strongly preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Problem-solving and leadership skills.
Project planning, risk management, time management and other project management skills.
