Pitney Bowes is now hiring for a Full Time Onsite Maintenance Technician in our Urbandale, IA facility.

1st Shift (Tuesday - Saturday; 4:30AM to 12:30PM)

Pay Rate: $25/hour

You will:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, install, and repair complex mechanical and electronic industrial equipment including conveyor systems, sortation machines, and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

  • Respond to equipment break down or emergency situations with urgency and expediency.

  • Utilize inventory, pm schedule and work order systems, and maintains the spare parts/supply inventory.

  • Evaluate and assess equipment problems by troubleshooting and completing repairs in a timely manner.

  • Perform all additional duties as required

Your background:

As an Onsite Industrial Maintenance Technician, you have:

  • 3-5 years' experience trouble-shooting and repairing complex industrial mechanical equipment including mailing equipment/sortation, conveyance, PLC systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, pulleys or any other industrial electro-mechanical production equipment preferred.

  • Ability to perform electrical and mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and installations on industrial machinery including belt/pulley systems, hydraulic and pneumatic components, motors, photo-eyes, relays, drive assemblies, limit switches, proximity sensors, and solenoids.

  • An AA degree in Industrial Technology, Electronics, Computer Science or related field of study is preferred.

  • Experience using a multi-meter or any other type of electronic testing equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, charts, service manuals and parts diagram preferred.

  • Familiarity with Windows PC environment as it pertains to the operation of automated equipment preferred.

  • Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, read schematics, establish priorities, and work under deadline pressures.

  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodations.

Our Presort Services network provides mailers with end-to-end solutions from pick up at their location to delivery into the postal system. Through our network of 33+ U.S. locations, and with our fully customized proprietary technology, we process approximately 15 billion pieces of mail annually and are able to expedite delivery and optimize postage savings for our clients.
