What Happens in Online Thrift Anyway?

  • Receive awesome items from our store teams

  • Process these awesome items through the entire e-commerce life cycle - describe, list, photograph and ship to online customers

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Sort goods and materials

  • Load and unload trailers

  • Help us be green and sustainable, sort and ship recyclable items

We partner with specific charities within the states we operate.

The Online Thrift Product Lister aassists with the processing functions of our online retail business by evaluating and posting various merchandise for sale on eBay.com, and other auction-oriented sites. Merchandise will include, but will not be limited to clothing, shoes, and accessories, furniture, musical instruments, jewelry, decorative items, housewares, art, electronics, sports equipment, bicycles, collectibles, and vintage/antique items.

Job Duties

  • Using the internet, published guidelines and consultation with experts, research potential merchandise to be placed online for sale, determining information such as the type and function of the item, fair market value, eligibility for vintage/antique status, brand, potential buyers, whether the item is genuine, and other details in order to make an educated assessment as to the item's saleability on our online markets

  • Write persuasive sales copy about the item

  • Measure and weigh items accurately, inclusive of packaging

  • Post items for sale on marketplace channels using e-goods software

  • Keep accurate records, using e-goods software, of items posted, sold, sales price, inventory, origin, and destination

  • Use warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks to move product in, out, and within the warehouse

  • Remove merchandise from containers and sort

  • Coordinate and communicate with store Ecommerce representatives as necessary regarding items sent from that store

  • Maintain a quick work pace in order to adhere to posting quotas

  • Assist with warehouse logistics as assigned

  • Maintain and adhere to all agency policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

  • Self-starter and learns quickly

  • Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Excellent written English skills

  • Ability to conduct reliable research using the Internet

  • Extremely detailed oriented

  • Familiarity with basic photographic principles so as to operate a mid-level digital camera, including the ability to upload pictures to a computer

  • Responsible and reliable and extremely organized

  • Ability to complete all assigned tasks quickly, and in an efficient manner, adhering to departmental quotas

  • Ability to understand and adhere to policies and procedures

  • Ability to continually provide feedback for process improvements

  • Ability to lift merchandise up to 30 pounds in weight

  • Ability to push and/or pull merchandise up to 200 lbs using warehouse equipment

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to various temperature extremes (hot in summer, cold in winter), moderate dust and noise

  • Reliable transportation in order to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays

  • Previous work experience in e-commerce or retail environment, like eBay or Amazon preferred

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
