POSITION TITLE: ONLINE TECHNOLOGY TEACHER
To work directly with students (individual, staff, class) by providing instruction, training, consultation and support services within specifically assigned curriculum/program/service areas.
Provides technical assistance and consultation to students for curriculum integration, classroom organization and hardware set-up, use and maintenance/repairs.
Assists in the selection and purchase of hardware, software and supportive technology equipment.
Researches and previews hardware, software supportive technology equipment and related education materials.
Develops and maintains library of hardware, software, supportive technology equipment and educational materials for staff.
Plans and implements a program that meets students' needs, interests and abilities and complies with State Department of Education minimum standards and District goals and objectives.
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum program or service goals.
Establishes clear objectives for all workshops, training, sessions, lessons, assignments, units and projects, and communicates these objectives to students.
Organizes and instructs/facilitates workshops, training sessions, lessons, assignments, units and projects.
Creates an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest level of students.
Establishes and maintains standards of appropriate behavior and discipline needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
Evaluates the learning progress on a regular basis and provides progress reports, prescribes effective programs and/or initiates referrals to appropriate agency personnel when appropriate.
Utilizes instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone.
Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects.
Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects and coordinate the work of others.
Knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet software.
Knowledge of all laws, regulations and guidelines affecting teachers and students.
Knowledge of effective classroom management techniques.
Ability to maintain positive relationships with students, parents, community members and staff.
Current New Mexico teaching license 200, 250, 300, 350 or 500.
Proficient computer and supportive education technology skills.
Three years of teaching experience.
