VIEW JOBS 5/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-08-09T00:00 Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end. It’s a time to uncover deep and actionable insights in our Platforms and Ecosystems (P&E;) products, which include Android, Chrome browser, Chromebooks and Google Play. Our Marketing Analytics team is a group of data analysts and consumer researchers responsible for shaping and delivering marketing insights to drive better decisions. We are looking for a marketing analyst who has an innate curiosity about our consumers, and is eager to dive into the data to better understand how to maximize impact of our marketing efforts, improve our products and identify the next huge partnership opportunity. In this role, you’ll work in close partnership with various internal stakeholders; both cross-functionally and across business-to-consumer marketing teams to pinpoint and consistently improve the key business drivers. Ultimately, you’ll leverage the deep customer insights that you uncover to help bring strategies to life that drive our go-to-market and product marketing efforts. You will be taking on complex business questions; such as identifying key drivers of Chrome browser monthly actives, establishing success measurement in Android distribution partnerships, and maximizing return on investments (ROI) of digital marketing activities. You are focused on the details while finding ways to overcome big picture challenges. You will promote your recommendations to marketing and product leadership to make informed decisions. Know the user. Know the magic. Connect the two. At its core, marketing at Google starts with technology and ends with the user, bringing both together in unconventional ways. Our job is to demonstrate how Google's products solve the world's problems--from the everyday to the epic, from the mundane to the monumental. And we approach marketing in a way that only Google can--changing the game, redefining the medium, making the user the priority, and ultimately, letting the technology speak for itself. ## Responsibilities * Set analytics priorities in key marketing initiatives. Translate business questions into appropriate analytical projects that will inform strategic business decisions. * Dive deep into complex internal product dataset, syndicated data and consumer survey results. Identify and communicate insights to management and cross-functional stakeholders for better decision making to new marketing program design, campaign optimization, resource allocation, and partnership priorities. * Establish success metrics and measurement plans that explain the incremental impact of marketing campaigns. * Operate seamlessly between being a internal business consultant and a highly technical business intelligence analyst. Develop data warehousing and reporting solutions to share key consumer insights with global stakeholders. * Manage external agencies to deliver analytical solutions and consumer research. Review, oversee and integrate agencies’ outputs to meet Google standards. ## Qualifications Minimum qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in quantitative/business fields or equivalent practical experience. * 4 years of experience as an analyst or in an analytical role. * Experience with database query using SQL languages. * Experience with data visualization intuition, Tableau or R. Preferred qualifications: * MBA or MS degree in quantitative majors. * Proven experience in measuring marketing success and identifying opportunities for improving marketing. * Experience working with multiple large datasets and the ability to pull from such datasets using relevant programs and coding. * Understanding of qualitative and quantitative consumer research. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to present complicated data findings in a clear and compelling manner. * * * At Google, we don’t just accept difference - we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our products and our community. Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status. We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements. If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please let us know. To all recruitment agencies: Google does not accept agency resumes. Please do not forward resumes to our jobs alias, Google employees or any other company location.
