The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Online Enrollment Coordinator, UNLV Admissions, Recruitment [R0143145]

ROLE of the POSITION

Under the direct guidance of the Director of Recruitment the Online Enrollment Coordinator (OEC) serves as the primary point of contact for prospective fully online undergraduate and graduate students throughout the enrollment process, from prospect through the point of matriculation. The OEC's responsibilities include, but are not limited to growing fully online undergraduate and graduate program enrollment, research and implementation of marketing initiatives, development and execution of fully-online recruitment plan, including recruitment events, communication with prospectively fully online students throughout the admissions and enrollment process, and supporting fully online students through matriculation. The OEC works closely with advisors and administrators in academic units to ensure seamless enrollment transition and advisement.

This position is critical in the recruitment process for prospective online students, serving as the first point-of-contact for learners interested in fully online degree or certificate programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Many of these students will be non-traditional students with transfer credit and/or other credit from prior learning (CPL). The OEC will provide unofficial transfer credit evaluations and work closely with the Registrar's Office and appropriate college level contacts to determine the transferability of CPL to a program that will meet the students' goals. The Online Enrollment Coordinator will also help students applying to certificate programs, understand both the limitations and benefits of certificate enrollment vs. degree granting programs in terms of costs, financial aid, stackable credentials, and student service availability and determine the best path to fulfilling the learner's ultimate educational and career goals.

The OEC will work collaboratively with the Office of Online Education on program and curriculum initiatives for online learners as necessary. Finally, this position is responsible for providing leadership in carrying out special initiatives as assigned by the Director of Recruitment or Enrollment Management leadership and will be expected to travel both in and out of state and work irregular hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1 - 3 years of Related Professional Experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

Relevant experience as it relates to student engagement, recruitment and customer service

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of recruitment and enrollment trends, issues and methods; specifically as it relates to online learning.

  • Knowledge of higher education current issues, specifically online learning and financial aid issues and policies.

  • Awareness of Federal Department of Education and Nevada Board of Regents policies.

  • Knowledge of general education (GE) credit policies and theory of GE waivers.

  • Knowledge of various methods to earn credit for prior learning.

Skills

  • Effective leadership and administrative skills: directing, planning, organizing, program supervision or management.

  • Effective communication skills: interpersonal, oral, written.

  • Clearly demonstrated ability to present information in an organized, engaging and informative manner to a wide audience of constituents.

  • Research skills in support of the development of policy and procedures.

  • Demonstrated proficiency to create and deliver reports and analysis to help with executive-level decision-making.

  • Strong customer service skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Professional experience preferably in direct undergraduate and/or graduate recruitment focused on fully online students for a regionally accredited public or private 4-yr R-1 institution.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of UNLV, Nevada and Clark County -- specifically in terms of recruitment for targeted programs.

  • Knowledge of and/or experience with SalesForce CRM and case management and PeopleSoft/Oracle SRS.

  • Knowledge of stackable credentialing; specifically as it relates to online learners and financial aid.

  • Knowledge of market research as it relates to credentials and employability; O*NET, OOH and how those categories can be related to specific programming.
