Job Overview

Provide product support and expertise for the On-Highway product marketing area. Analyze competitors and market data to identify opportunities and recommend product changes. Develop marketing initiatives to support target segments for brand.

Responsibilities

Provide Analytical support to Segment Managers in developing needed information for target segments, including data, trends, needs, reactions to competitors' actions, profit potential etc.

Assist segment managers in trade show marketing efforts and truck spec'ing. Work with corporate communications to ensure trade shows follow the Brand Strategy.

Manage marketing support for internal and external customers working with segment managers to determine core focus areas and overall program choice.

Measure and Track ROI of programs; reporting results to senior management as needed.

Interface with all departments (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, finance, market planning and analysis, etc.) to insure assigned segments have applicable product coverage within the product portfolio.

Insure marketing input is regularly funneled to the pricing activity, and that market-sensitive published pricing is maintained.

Identify profit opportunities within segments and track segment trends through the use of Cognos, RPM, and other marketing applications.

Work with product planning analysts to ensure that customer requirements are addressed and added to PAR process if necessary.

Analyze competitive brand product lines, options, pricing strategy, product positioning, application, strengths/weaknesses, opportunities, threats and customer focus.

Prepare and maintain segment performance marketing reports for management.

Manage owner operator segment marketing including Team Run Smart and OOIDA incentive program.

Attend trade shows and interact with customers and vendors to represent Freightliner On Highway products.

Support training for dealer and customers.

Maintain and update marketing tools: FST, FACT, Dash, etc;

Assist with pre-series for new options or models; Create and maintain Freightliner Action Bulletins (FABs).

Work with strategic vendors to promote products through marketing programs.

Work with Product Strategy team to identify new options to actively market to dealers.

Assist with and help present webinars to dealer salespersons.

Maintain marketing based option packages (AeroX, Elite Exterior packages, etc.).

Assist with factory stock ordering, pricing & marketing for On Highway models.

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience OR an associate's degree with 4 years of related experience OR 8 years of related experience required

  • At least 1 year of group leader, project lead, or mentoring experience required

  • An attached resume is required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint and MS-Excel required

  • Proficiency in SpecPro, IMS and order report tools preferred

  • Product knowledge and experience in truck industry required

  • Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time required

  • Strong communication skills and able to present to medium to large groups required

  • Sales and/or marketing experience required

This position is responsible for providing leadership for the TRB product life cycle management. The Associate Product Manager will be the customer applications expert, and supports pricing and price yield management for the TRB product line. Key responsibilities include but not limited to: * Serve as Subject Matter Expert of the Tapered Roller Bearings product line market with in-depth knowledge of the scope of sub-products offered, key players, and market share * Develop and execute strategy to grow market share using SWOT analysis, working with Industry Managers, and supporting Field Sales * Use CRM system and field sales group expertise to provide market volume and margin analysis for new product launches * Serve as the liaison between Schaeffler's Global Product Management Team and North American manufacturing facilities for sourcing, manufacturing "know how" expertise, and transfers * Determine which products will be offered from stock for our OE and aftermarket business, determine forecasts, and maintain optimum fill rates while preserving working capital * Understand and recommend where we take business with low margins to grow volumes, as well as phase in and phase out of new and existing products Qualified candidates will have: * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering degree * 2-3 years experience to include either related industrial bearings product knowledge or related industry experience * Excellent computer systems aptitude with ERP and CRM systems; previous SAP experience a plus * Strong project management, presentation, and data analysis skills, with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint * Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional teams * Self motivated with strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a high pressure, matrix environment * Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time Schaeffler is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans LUK Inc Fort Mill SC
