  • Provides comprehensive assistance to the One Stop/Registrar Office in creating, maintaining, and processing student records.

  • Creates and maintains student records

Essential Responsibilities (Return to top)

  • Evaluates transcripts for transfer credit & enters into student information system.

  • Assists with enrolling students, including distributing enrollment materials and/or class rosters, creating/editing lists of all enrolled students.

  • Provides student information to advisors.

  • Posts credit and processes narrative evaluations

  • Tracks class rosters and health forms.

  • Tracks Independent Study course contracts.

  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail.

  • Updates web sites, campus bulletin boards, and communications to inform students.

  • Processes transcript requests: logs requests, verifies academic information, prints, and mails transcripts to requestors

  • Manages a variety of data entry tasks including enrollment agreements, transfer credits, enrollment verifications, and others as assigned.

  • Processes student/staff/faculty identification.

  • Enters data in the student information system.

  • Monitors compliance with college polices and procedures.

  • Documents all student contracts, evaluations, graduation requirements, and other relevant documents required for student files.

  • Closes files of graduated and/or withdrawn students.

  • Files student academic information via electronic document imaging system.

Education and Experience (Return to top)

  • Associates degree or equivalent schooling require

  • Two years of experience with data entry and management and office/clerical support. Competent knowledge of word processing, basic software applications, and e-mail communication. Experience with higher education and/or registration processes and record management preferred.

The IT Support Center Specialist for the Arizona Student Unions Information Systems Department provides technical support, training and guidance to the Student Union community regarding the use, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of computer hardware, software and network connectivity technology, including installation, configuration, testing and problem resolution. The Arizona Student Unions consist of both the Student Union Memorial Center (SUMC) and the Park Student Union, as well as Highland Market and a number of convenience stores and food stops around campus. In addition to campus dining services and catering, the Arizona Student Unions also run mall scheduling, concessions at athletic events, Fast Copy & Design, Games Room, the Gallagher Theatre, and a Post Office Contract Unit. The Student Union Memorial Center is one of the largest student unions in the United States. Duties & Responsibilities * Receives and prioritizes incoming telephone, voicemail, email and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking and other computing-related technologies. * Evaluates and resolves client computing issues in-person and remotely; corrects routine problems by recommending and assisting with minor repairs to equipment and/or entering specialized commands or data into systems. Contacts appropriate resources for additional assistance. * Logs and tracks calls using a specialized database, and maintains history records and related documentation. * Installs and/or assists in the installation and configuration of software and hardware. * Trains and guides campus community members in the use of technology. * Writes on-line announcements to notify customers of system changes or issues, security alerts and new software/hardware releases. * Monitors on-line forums and web pages for content accuracy and usability. * Recommends changes as necessary. * Trains and coaches student workers. * Additional duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities * Knowledge of computer networks and remote troubleshooting techniques. Skill in troubleshooting, repairing, configuring and administering systems in a domain or workgroup environment. * Skill in providing information technology related customer service and training to users with varying levels of technical expertise. * Skill in analyzing computer hardware and software problems. * Skill in working as part of a team. * Skill in time management and in dealing with multiple priorities. * Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Minimum Qualifications Prior IT support experience for the following systems: * Workstation administration in a Windows Active Directory domain environment * Group Policy Object Administration * Point-of-sale technologies * Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications Three years of hardware/software experience in area of assignment, including one year of experience providing IT customer support services; OR, an Associate's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Technology or related field AND two years of hardware/software experience in area of assignment including one year of experience providing IT customer support services; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
