Position Summary

Texas Oncology is searching for a full-time Nurse Manager, Registered Nurse (RN) that will oversee nursing services at the Arlington North, Arlington South and Mansfield locations. These locations are outpatient Oncology settings that are open Monday-Friday 8:30a-5p. The Nurse Manager, Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates all activities related to nursing functions and patient care, within budgetary constraints; supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities.

  • Maintains effective nursing staff coverage for the practice and satellites within budgetary constraints.

  • Hires and coordinates training for all nursing personnel.

  • Directs the correct use of charge codes and educates all staff in correct procedures per reimbursement guidelines.

  • Coordinates the completion of performance evaluations for all nursing staff and support.

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws, schedules and coordinates employee vacations, sick leave and overtime.

  • Monitors and evaluates patient satisfaction.

  • Facilitates QA process in nursing.

  • Provides staff training/inservices as required.

  • Develops new services and activities for patients, families and staff in accordance with practice service objectives.

  • Controls nursing departmental operating costs within budget parameters.

  • Establishes and maintains all nursing personnel files. Ensures all licensing and certification criteria are met.

  • Provides support and direction as required in the area of clinical research in the practice and ensure nursing staff compliance to the established research protocols.

  • Performs tasks assigned to staff nurses as necessary.

  • Coordinates and implements internal developmental programs for nursing staff to enhance staff retention.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (MSN preferred) from an accredited program for professional nursing education from four-year college or university, business education courses preferred

  • Minimum seven years actively practicing as a registered nurse' previous Oncology experience

  • One year managerial experience preferred

  • Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment

  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state

  • Current CPR certification required

  • OCN credential preferred

Facility Description: Texas Health Surgery Center Arlington specializes in out-patient eye surgeries: Ophthalmology, Ocular/Plastics, Cornea and Retina. Willing to pay signing-on bonus and aggressive salary for experienced Ophthalmology O.R. Circulator Nurse. Accountabilities / Responsibilities Perioperative registered nurses (O.R. RN) provide surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care patients receive before, during and after surgery. These activities include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, pre- and post-operative patient education, monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being, and integrating and coordinating patient care throughout the surgical care continuum. Responsible for managing the nursing care within the O.R. by observing the surgical team from a broad perspective and assisting the team in creating and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment. * Maintains and evaluates own clinical expertise and clinical practice, demonstrates the importance of continuing education to the performance of facility responsibilities and growth in profession. * Conducts quality review audits as assigned by manager or designee, conscientiously and continuously applies the principles and tools learned during CQI training on a daily basis. * Maintains flexibility with scheduling and job assignments in order to cover patient needs. * Fosters a positive and professional ambulatory surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member. * Participates in committees, work groups, and meetings as deemed necessary. Can demonstrate measurable results an meet target dates. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and takes part in shared leadership. Qualifications * Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing. * At least one year of OR and/or medical / surgical nursing experience preferred. * Current state licensure to practice. * Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basice Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and ACLS. * Specialty certification in Perioperative Nursing recommended.
