Job Title: Oncology Nurse
Job Description
In this pivotal role, you will use ONS standards and guidelines, maintain accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, and be responsible for ongoing patient assessment. You will ensure appropriate charges are captured by following guidelines for the administration of all medications, and follow the company's I.D. policy and procedure with every patient encounter. You will also act as a moderator/instructor for chemotherapy classes, educate patients and their families about medications, side effects, and planned treatment courses. Your interaction with patients and their families should always be in a caring, professional manner. You will prioritize incoming calls and messages, assisting with inventory and restocking medical supplies. You will also need to have a working knowledge of dispensing medications via Nucleus.
Hard Skills
Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of employment
Experience in IV infusion/therapy
Ability to assess patient needs and condition
Strong critical thinking skills
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Current CPR & BLS certifications
Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
Valid Driver's license, in state of residency
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification (preferred)
Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital (preferred)
Soft Skills
Ability to interact with patients and their families in a caring, professional manner
Ability to prioritize and respond to incoming calls and messages in a timely manner
