Oncology Data Coordinator/ CTR - Part Time

Job Description

Under the direction of the Cancer Center Director, the Oncology Data Coordinator shall establish and maintain the ongoing operation of the cancer registry; abstract and follow up patients according to national and state guidelines, retrieve and analyze registry data; disseminate data according to professional ethics and guidelines. Ensure cancer registry activities meet the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer standards. Responsible for the HIPAA Accounting of Disclosure of cancer cases reported to the Alabama Cancer Registry.

Education Required: Individual with knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-O coding, cancer staging, tumor morphology, and histology, basic anatomy/physiology and database management and analytics. Demonstrates knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Experience Required: Two years of medical office or hospital health information management department or relevent hospital clinical experience.

License/Certification Required: CTR (Cancer Tumor Registar) preferred.
