The Area Sales Manager/Sr. ASM is responsible for managing and developing a group of Sales Representatives dedicated to meeting and exceeding sales objectives and to making Novartis the preferred partner in the Oncology community.

Leading the implementation of national and regional strategies for the promoted product line. Customers include office-based physicians, consultant pharmacists, medical directors, key medical and nursing personnel among others.
Additional key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: team leadership; hiring, training and coaching; performance management; and efficient and effective account targeting and coverage. Strong analytical skills are required to effectively use personal and promotional resources in order to maximize sales and market share. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing an area business plan to address product promotion priorities and valid customer requirements.
The ASM will represent a consistent "CUSTOMER FIRST" approach to business activities & relationships while developing and demonstrating outstanding planning, organizational and leadership skills with an experienced sales force. The ASM will serve as a peer leader and resource to the "TEAM" at both an area and national level. A willingness to travel over a broad geography is required (approx. 60% travel).
