JOB SUMMARY:

The Onboarding Specialist is responsible for guiding and helping introduce people to the company's culture and operations. The position is to ensure each new hire adjusts to the work environment of the company during their first few days on the job.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

To perform this job, an individual must accomplish each essential function satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Responsible for managers and candidates experience; keeping all parties engaged and informed during the onboarding experience, enhancing the overall candidate and manager experience.

  • Responsible for compliance in all pre-employment and onboarding phases adhering to organization as well as state and federal requirements.

  • Builds relationships by providing timely updates, delivering valuable insights and relevant experience.

  • Delivers unwavering support.

  • Connects with their audience, networks, promotes talent discussions within AHC Communities.

  • Works with stakeholders to determine and designate screenings.

  • Works with candidates serving as primary guide for background checks, new hire paperwork and on-boarding ensuring customer service, compliance as well as completion in a timely manner.

  • Works with and coordinates pre-employment screening requirements with necessary pre-employment testing facilities when necessary.

  • The ideal candidate for this role will be someone that sees an opportunity to help or lend support and asks to help. Additionally, proactively reaches out as downtime occurs to gain greater exposure with stretch assignments and HR operations; maximizes their time in the office to gain greater business knowledge.

  • Help employees adjust to their new role so they can quickly deliver valuable work and thrive in their new environment.

  • Coordinate orientation schedule with hiring manager

  • Automate or schedule feedback to collect information from new hires immediately after they pass particular orientation milestones.

  • Give employees the ability to not only rate their experience, but to shape future processes.

  • Tailor questions to mirror the organization's unique onboarding and new hire processes, resulting in actionable data.

  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Welcoming personality

  • Ability to memorize company policies

  • Successful completion of required training

  • Handle multiple priorities effectively

Required Computer Software/Equipment Used:

  • Various operating systems

  • Standard office equipment

  • Microsoft Suite applications

  • Desktop, laptop and/or iPad

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:

o High school diploma or equivalent required

o Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management preferred

  • Experience:

o Minimum 1 year of experience in a related role preferred

o Direct experience with talent acquisition preferred

o Proficient with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and human resource information systems (HRIS) preferred

o UltiPro/UKG experience preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Does not have supervisory responsibilities

  • Supervisor frequently determines priorities

  • Occasionally needs manager's direction due to extraordinary circumstances

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Audio-Visual: Good

  • Hearing: Good

  • Ability to lift to 10 pounds

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Subject to walking, sitting

  • Work is typically performed in a standard office environment; well-lit; comfortable temperature-controlled

  • Position may require flexible hours, unscheduled overtime or occasional week-end work

  • Must be able to speak and write in English

  • Travel may be required
