Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Solar Project Manager Overview

The O&M Solar Project Manager is responsible for quoting, coordinating, and executing solar system repairs and projects that require significant design, procurement, permitting, equipment coordination, and project management scopes. Project scopes will include inverter retrofits and repowers, system decommissioning, module warranty claims, system remove and reinstalls, racking retrofits, and system inspections following natural disasters.

Additionally, the role will work with the commercial engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) team to ensure projects are built/commissioned to standard, warranties are maintained, and workmanship issues are resolved as quickly as possible. The role will include communication with vendors, customers, asset owners, legal counsel, subcontractors.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial site assessments to collect site details.

  • Create initial design solutions with support from Commercial Designers

  • Solicit vendors for quotes on required materials, equipment, personnel, etc.

  • Create project estimates and submit proposals for review with customers.

  • Negotiate contract terms with customer with support from Commercial Sales.

  • Manage projects from kickoff to closeout

  • Coordinate interdepartmental resource sharing.

Other Role Responsibilities

  • Aid in closeout, commissioning, and handoff obligations for Namaste Solar constructed systems.

  • Support department in performance evaluations.

  • Support ongoing enhancement and development of operations processes, tools, and workflows.

  • Coordinate with Commercial Operations to support EPC projects through warranty period and with commissioning services.

  • Ensure client expectations are met during EPC closeout process.

  • Provide immediate feedback to design and EPC teams regarding closeout issues.

  • Support team with ancillary management duties including coverage for team members during time off, system performance monitoring coverage, and weekend support as needed.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Expertise with commercial and/or small utility scale PV systems.

  • Project estimation experience for repairs and/or construction projects.

  • Familiarity with NEC code, OSHA, ANSI, and related commercial building standards.

  • Understanding of construction projects, i.e., ability to read, understand electrical and structural designs and plan sets.

  • Ability and ambition to work independently to solve complex problems.

  • Strong desire to pursue self-directed learning.

  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of software.

Additional Experience:

  • NABCEP/COSEIA certification.

  • OSHA 30 certification.

  • Project Management.

  • Electrical Construction.

  • Electrical License.

  • Knowledge of various SCADA/DAS architectures, control circuitry, networking and remote security needs.

Work Schedule, Compensation and Benefits

  • Position based in Denver, CO - must be a Colorado resident to be considered

  • Starting salary $75-89k, with salary review in six months

  • Compensation will be dependent on experience, certifications, and licenses.

  • This position may require working one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) to be worked on an as needed basis.
