We are now hiring full-time and part-time candidates who already possess a CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements.

NOTE: Candidates must be available to work nights and weekends as needed.

(Candidates who do not possess Class B CDL or are interested in full-time may be considered for future openings.)

About the position:

Airport Rental Car Shuttle drivers will provide routed shuttle service between the Airport to the Rental Car facility. Safety and Customer Service are our key responsibilities. Shuttle drivers will assist clients with boarding and stowing luggage and provide information regarding shuttle schedules and directions to common destinations in the airport and RAC Facilities. A 24/7 operation provides a range of full and part time shifts.

As an Airport Shuttle Bus Driver, your major responsibilities will be to:

  • Drive transit buses in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the service area within a daily assigned time schedule

  • Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required

  • Stop at designated points to load and unload passengers

  • Assist in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly secure wheelchairs and scooters

  • Notify dispatch of deviations, overload, accidents, passenger incidents, medical/behavioral problems, or bus mechanical/electrical trouble

  • Advise passengers of rules and regulations when necessary

  • Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and all accidents

  • Assist passengers with boarding and stowing luggage

  • Provide information regarding shuttle schedules and directions in airport/RAC facilities

Airport Shuttle Bus Driver job requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Possess a valid driver's license

  • Possess a CDL Operator's License with B + P endorsements

  • Have at least 3 years of driving experience

  • 1 year of work experience providing passenger transportation is preferred

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Able to work shift hours and days assigned.

  • All candidates subject to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Drive truck and trailer to transport materials in liquid or packaged form to and from specified destinations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Comply with all Company policies, local work and safety rules and federal, state and local regulations that govern the industry. * Follow company procedures for properly and safely loading and unloading freight. Safely operate a forklift to load and unload freight. * Maintain a safe work environment by cleaning and removing debris from work area; place dunnage and empty skids in proper location; keep aisles clear and observe forklift safety regulations. * Drop and hook trailer(s) and change the configuration of equipment as necessary. Connect air hoses and electrical lines, install and remove tire chains, and manually crank dolly wheels. * When hauling hazardous material, verify the hazardous material product description, determine any discrepancies in the paperwork, and verify proper placarding. * Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Inspect the operating condition of the tractor and trailer(s) before and after trip, and when stopped in route. * Drive truck to transport materials in liquid or packaged form to and from specified destinations. Verify load against shipping papers. Drive truck to specified destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area. Prepare receipt for load picked up. Collect payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges. * May maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations. May maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. May inspect truck equipment as supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. May perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses and tire chains. * Select and use proper tools as necessary to load and unload freight. * Prepare, inspect, and clean trailer(s) before loading freight. * Count all pieces of freight in loading and unloading. * Plan cube utilization and proper weight distribution when loading freight. * Review freight bills for special instructions. Check manifests for existing exceptions. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in a warehouse or transportation industry. * Experience operating a forklift. WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental working conditions vary and employee may encounter vibration, noise, odors, and extremes in temperature and wind as well as exposure to varied weather, varied surfaces, sharp edges, varied lighting and confined and congested areas and occasionally exposure to petroleum-based products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, oil, and grease. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and maintain balance for extensive periods of time. The ability to frequently lift up to 10 lbs from floor to above waist and horizontally, and carry objects up to 50 feet. Occasionally lift up to 70 lbs. Seldomly lift up to 100 lbs. Ability to push/pull up to 148 lbs for extensive periods of time. Ability to the couple and uncouple combinations vehicles, which requires the ability to repeatedly turn a crank and operate a release lever. Ability to climb ladders on the tractor and/or trailer(s) and frequently enter and exit vehicles. Ability to perform repetitive tasks; stretch, turn, twist, and reach over head; bend, crouch, squat, kneel and stoop for extensive periods of time. The ability to operate a forklift, dolly, hand truck, pallet truck, carts, and other equipment is necessary for loading and unloading freight.
