A career in Risk Management, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to advance and foster integrity based decision making and conduct by PwC professionals throughout our organisation. You'll focus on promoting and monitoring compliance with applicable external laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures to help manage PwC's regulatory, litigation, and reputational risk. Our Consultations team is responsible for handling PwC employee inquiries telephonically and via email. As part of the team, you'll answer calls, research required information using available resources, and manage and resolve customer complaints. You will also be responsible for documenting information, identifying and escalating priority issues and following up with the relevant party.

Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in leading teams or functions that involve the application of the scope of services independence rules established by the SEC, AICPA, PCAOB, IFAC; services or engagements contemplated or being provided to clients within the professional services industry, including the following areas:

  • Problem-solving and a consistent consultancy mindset; and,
  • Researching problems and/or issues and developing and offering effective solutions for business issues related to Independence.

Demonstrates thought-leader abilities and/or a proven record of success emphasizing the following areas:

  • Leading, coaching and developing the consultation team of varying staff levels;

  • Overseeing the training other Independence Consulting staff on matters pertaining to the PwC line of service;

  • Directing and executing special projects, specifically firm transactions such as acquisitions, both in support of line of service initiatives, the Independence Consulting group and the independence function overall;

  • Collaborating heavily with firm leadership, risk management and supporting other team leaders and members within Independence Consulting and other independence functions on consultations or projects involving cross or multiple lines of service;

  • Managing the development and maintenance of working relationships with project teams within the various practices and become the focal point of contact for complex independence questions that may arise; and,

  • Managing complex conversations related to scope of service independence matters with practice partners.

Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas related to Independence-related policy consulting for a global network of professional services firms: * Liaising with various teams in the Independence Office on inquiries and consultations referred to or from the Independence Office; * Managing, reporting project status and escalating issues to team leaders on assigned daily responsibilities as well as other team initiatives and process improvement efforts; * Leading, coaching and developing other members of the team; * Utilizing attained independence-related knowledge and client-service experience to match independence rules and policies to facts and then to make an authoritative decision; * Leveraging business writing skills to articulate PwC's services or document a position taken in a concise manner, especially as it involves project management, resource allocation, problem resolution, and presentation and communications development; * Working independently towards quality completion of projects, keeping supervisors apprised of progress; * Training staff on matters pertaining to the subject matter specialty; * Participating and/or leading special projects; * Working closely with and supporting team leaders and members on consultations or projects involving cross or multiple lines of service; * Developing and maintaining working relationships with client service teams within the various practices and become the focal point of contact for non-audit/non-attest scope-of-services independence questions that may arise; and, * Being self-motivated and taking ownership of learning Independence scope-of-services policies to gain a deeper understanding of independence policies and guidance, and the application of these policies and guidance to engagement situations and other initiatives.
