Responsible for secondary functions of products in ensuring quality standards and supplying

added value products to meet customer needs.


Complete paperwork accurately and follow all paperwork procedures and instructions

Operate the following equipment to produce finished product: hydraulic reeler, electric

reeler, lift truck, table saw, rotor and band saw

Physically parallel or coil duct to requirements

Inspect products for non-conformance of quality and report any findings

Assemble wooden and steel reels to correct requirements

Custom build reels for coiling requirements

Process cable to specific requirements

Paint and stencil reel for cosmetic appearance

Assist grinding crew in the disposal of scrap pipe

Maintain equipment. Equipment should be kept clean. Report any defective equipment

Maintain a neat and orderly work area

Provide assistance to any supervisor or employee in promoting a safe work environment

Follow all safety requirements for this position

Abide by all policies and procedures in the company handbook

Perform all other duties as directed by management


High school diploma or GED is desired

Prior experience in operating a lift truck (forklift)


Occasionally needs to lift more than 100 pounds with reasonable assistance

Frequently needs to lift up to 50 pounds

Must repeatedly grip duct with hands and hold arms over head when coiling/paralleling

Must repeatedly grip with one hand while using different tools with other hand during

different job tasks


Must be able to be around objects that are moving in a circular motion

Must be able to stand up for 12 hours in a shift

Must be able to stoop, bend at waist, and lift legs to step over objects

Must be able to work in a hot, non-air conditioned atmosphere

At times will be required to work outside during inclement weather

VIEW JOBS 4/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-12T00:00 JOB TITLE: Downstream Operator FLSA: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Extrusion REPORTS TO: Extrusion Supervisor SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS: To maintain the quality of the extruded product and it's packaging DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Places the correct reel onto reeler and prepares for start-up. Reel must be in good condition * Operates reeler (Manual and auto mode) * Monitors print and footage markings, and makes corrections as needed * Monitors for continuous stripe (if required) * Knows and understands the quality requirements for all products being produced * Makes all checks that may be required to assure that the product being wound on the reels meets the product requirements. These checks will include but are not inclusive: * Check for proper puller pressure * Check for stuck cable on C-I-D (Cable In Duct) products * Check for hot spots on the duct * Check surface temperature of duct * Check for print quality * Check surface quality of duct * Check for holes, die-face build-up on duct * Check for loss of stripes * Before making the necessary adjustments, informs the supervisor or Line Operator of problem areas * Ensures wraps on reels are neat * Cuts conduit, ties-off, and caps conduit when each reel and cable (if applicable) is complete * Paints and stencils wood reels (if required) * Grinds line scrap as it is produced and stacks scrap * Assists Line Operator in line start-ups * Maintains a neat and orderly work area * Assists other operators in cutting conduit, tie-offs, and reel changes * Follows all safety requirements for this position and all company safety guidelines * Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor * Completes appropriate paperwork to ensure accurate inventory transactions EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or GED is desired * Ability to read and write English * Ability to perform simple math, add, subtract, multiply, divide and take measurements OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to lift more than 100 pounds with reasonable assistance * Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance * Ability to climb ladders, listen to equipment, look for defects in product and sense temperature changes in the finished product * Ability to hold conduit and drive nails into reel flanges simultaneously * Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objects * Ability to spend up to 12 hours a shift on foot and around hot machinery WORKING CONDITIONS: * Manufacturing floor environment * May include outside conditions on top of railcars or silos in all types of weather Dura-Line North Salt Lake UT
