We are seeking an Office-based Sales Representative to join our dynamic team! This position works from our Indianapolis, IN office as part of our Sales team. This role will focus on selling an assigned product portfolio and generating sales for small to mid-sized clients by managing customer interactions remotely. The person in this role will need to be an excellent communicator, a proactive problem-solver and be customer-focused. We are seeking someone that is self-motivated, analytical, shows attention to detail, takes initiative and has a positive attitude. Sales experience is ideal, however animal industry and life sciences knowledge and understanding is critical to success in this position.
On a typical day, the Office-Based Sales Representative will contribute to the Envigo team by:
Managing sales activities for existing accounts in the assigned territory
Developing account plans to deliver on defined sales objectives to achieve sales quota
Developing opportunities by communicating, and engaging to understand customers' needs and aligning the value proposition Envigo delivers
Conducting research to understand customer strategy and objectives in order to identify opportunities
Prioritizing time across the portfolio of accounts to ensure a robust sales pipeline
Following up on marketing qualified leads to move into the sales process
To be successful in this role, this position requires that the Office-Based Sales Representative brings:
BS/BA required (preferable in Life or Animal Science) or other means of attaining equivalent knowledge
Lab / bench level pre-clinical or academic research experience in lieu of sales experience
Ability to build strong relationships with external and internal customers
Be detail-oriented and Customer-Centric
Possess excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
It would be a bonus if a candidate also has:
Experience with a CRM tool or Salesforce
Life Science Industry experience
Strong consultative selling skills and proven capability to close sales
Experience calling on professional research staff
AALAS, ILAM or other similar memberships or affiliations
Affiliations or relationships with university research staff
Biology and animal husbandry knowledge
