Duties: Performs a variety of functions including accounts payable, reconciliation and department budget management and record keeping duties.
Prepares invoices for payment by the City Comptroller and prepares deposits of accounts receivable and cash receipts by the Department of Inspectional Services. Management of department payroll processing.
Creates and tracks purchase orders and contracts.
Performs a variety of clerical duties that require significant decision-making ability.
Responds to general requests from the public including FOI request.
Supervision: Provides significant assistance to the Inspectional Service Department Director with oversight of reception office, including ISD clerical staff of four.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, 7-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a municipal environment or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be familiar with MUNIS system and Citizen Serve Municipal Software System.
Experience in contract management desirable. Position requires strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage many tasks, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and knowledge of general office equipment and software.
