The DHHS Medicaid and Long-Term Care (MLTC) division is seeking an Office Specialist to join the Medicaid Claims Screening team as a payment reviewer. This role plays a critical role in support of the Medicaid Claims Screening unit.

Successful candidates will be organized, have excellent customer service skills, and demonstrate support of the team.

Location: NSOB 301 Centennial Mall South Lincoln, NE

Schedule: 8-5, M-F

Examples of Work

Job duties are inclusive of the following:

  • Under immediate supervision, works with the Medicaid Claims team.

  • Perform office support work involving receiving clients, entering data, filing, sorting and opening mail, completing forms, copying, searching records, and answering phones.

  • Enters, retrieves, and researches information via computer systems inquiry and input

  • Educate providers on the complete billing process and on-going assistance to answer questions regarding claims and payments.

  • Review Medicaid Claims for completeness and accuracy and ensure documentation meets agency requirements; proper coding methods and completion of claim forms; return documents with missing or incorrect information to the originator.

  • Documents must be reviewed, verified and then scanned within the OnBase System and then entered into the MMIS System for claims processing and adjudication.

  • Must be able to lift and move boxes weighing 30-35 pounds.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Coursework/training and experience in public contact, customer service, working in a human services setting

  • Experience using computer systems or office applications or performing office/secretarial support functions.

  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and able to perform repetitive work in a high-volume, fast paced work environment.

  • Predictable and reliable attendance.

PREFERRED:

  • At least one year of customer service experience, experience with Enterprise One, NFOCUS, OnBase, and Microsoft Excel, word;

  • Internal and external customer service experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A successful candidate would have

Knowledge of:

  • Basic computer skills.

Skill in:

  • Listening to and understanding information and/or instructions received to perform assigned tasks;

  • Entering data into spreadsheets or data bases. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel is preferred, general office practices and procedures;

  • computer office applications, systems, and programs;

  • maintain records and files; scanning, multi-function copy machines, telephones and other office equipment;

  • Perform repetitive task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communication; English grammar and usage;

  • understand human services, practices, and procedures;

  • accommodate new methods; maintain confidentiality;

  • sharp attention to detail;

  • proofreading skills;

  • accurate keyboarding skills
