The Department of Fish and Game is hiring for an Office Services Supervisor 1. This position is responsible for managing the Upper Snake Regional office's front support staff work unit in Idaho Falls.
Example of Duties
Manages the IDFG Upper Snake Regional office's front support staff work unit.
Responsible for hiring, completing performance evaluations, delegating work assignments, professional development, problem solving, and crisis management.
Ensures effective work flow, operational consistency, and integration of work units and is accountable for the work performed.
Evaluates, trains, and directly supports staff by developing expectations, objectives, and counseling employees.
Administrative Management Support
Provides administrative support to the Upper Snake's Regional Supervisor and program leaders.
Performs other job related duties and special projects as assigned
Enforcement Officer Support
Management of Daily Operations
Accounts payable monitoring and approval.
Reviews payroll timesheets for accuracy.
Provides new employee orientation to the region's staff.
Schedules and coordinates arrangements for on-site and off-site meetings and conferences, to include facilities, equipment, and minutes.
Assesses office needs and makes recommendations to management regarding equipment, space and staff requirements.
Composes letters, correspondence, and memos requiring independent judgment as to content and analyzes information from a variety of sources to prepare reports.
Utilize a variety of computer programs to create, process, and maintain a variety of documents and administrative records containing technical information and difficult formats.
Customer Service Program
Provides license sales, hunting and fishing information to department customers and provides license vendor support.
Provides customer support with road kills, injured or orphaned animals, depredation problems, live traps, and pest advice; this position requires the handling of live and dead wildlife!
Responds to inquiries and explains department services, policies, procedures, and rationale for decisions to customers.
Provides quality and effective customer service to both external and internal customers.
Maintains office hours (generally Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.); some overnight travel may be required to attend meetings.

Good knowledge of office support functions.
Some knowledge of supervisory practices.
Experience: interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services; independently solving problems/performing liaison activities to deal with individuals or resolve conflicts in a work setting.
Minimum Qualification Specialty Area: (This qualification is required for all Idaho Department of Fish and Game's Office Services Supervisor 1 positions.)

Additional consideration may be given at the time of interview to candidates who have some knowledge or experience in hunting, fishing and trapping.
