Position Title Office Services Aide Department Human Resources/Payroll Department Summary

The Human Resources/Payroll Department is responsible for the administration and implementation of University Personnel Policies and Procedures.

The incumbent in this position primarily develop training materials for various HR/PR tasks. Strong technology skills are desired.

General Job Description

Job description may include routine duties with no prior experience needed to be able to perform. May involve a modest degree of responsibility and judgment. Routine data entry; Answering phones; Making copies; Greeting customers; Taking messages; Managing confidential information; Maintain regular attendance; and, Perform other job duties as assigned.

Specific Duties

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for:

  • Develops draft letters, reports, forms, organizational charts, flow charts, presentations, memos, worksheets, etc.

  • Serves as front office point of contact to greet visitors and provides exceptional customer service

  • Answers phone inquiries, screens calls, takes messages, and directs calls to appropriate personnel

  • Receives, sorts, and distributes departmental mail and other documents

  • Maintains confidentiality

  • Data entry

  • Answers routine questions

  • Scans and indexes various documents into information systems

  • Copies, collates, and files various documents

  • Faxes various documents

  • Shreds various documents

  • Prints various documents

  • Keeps printers and photocopy machine stocked with paper

  • Maintains regular attendance

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education: College student at NMHU enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours. High school diploma or GED. Experience: None

Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands

Frequently: Standing, Walking, Bending, Squatting, Kneeling, Repetitive hand motion, Prolonged use of computer. Occasionally: Lifting a minimum of thirty (30) pounds, Climbing.

Hourly Rate 12.00 hour Preferred Work Schedule Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Employment Term Fall
