Under direct supervision as a trainee, this position will learn to performs computer imaging, installation, troubleshooting and how to repair of computers and peripherals. This position will learn to utilize remote tools to install, troubleshoot and repair software issues.

This position will learn to create incidents and document issues and procedures within the WVOT ticketing system. This position will ensure that all paperwork including timecards and travel are accurately kept and submitted. This position will use all available methods to research issues as needed.

This position requires excellent customer service skills. Performs other duties as assigned.

Training: Twelve (12) semester hours of computer science and/or information technology from an accredited college or university.

OR

Successful completion of an information technology, networking, computer science, computer programming and/or data processing program of at least 1080 clock hours from a secondary, vocational or technical school, commercial college or school of comparable level.

OR

Substitution: Full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as described below may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis.

AND

Experience:One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in information, telecommunication, or wireless technology, and/or information technology related fields.

Establish a relationship between the WVOT and state agencies to ensure the agency's functional business needs align with proposed technical solutions. <br><br>  Address and escalate agency concerns regarding IT requirements and directives, as well as, IT communication notifications of routine maintenance as well as emergency situations.  Communicates directly, effectively, and regularly to maintain a strong partnership with state agencies.  Works with the WVOT Project Management Office (PMO) to align agency business needs with IT projects. <br><br>  Strives to find efficiencies in IT solutions deployed and implemented for and by the agencies.  Conduct meetings with clients on a regular basis to identify/coordinate IT needs; Assist agencies to identify IT Needs based on agency's functional business requirements and helps align them with the proper technical solutions; Set/manage agency's expectations for IT solutions and services; Document meetings with timely, detailed notes; Help clients initiate or procure IT services, software, equipment following correct procedures; Help agencies navigate the processes to initiate WVOT services and support, which includes assistance in clarification/explanation of the WVOT service catalog, rates, billing; Lead the updates to and renewal of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the agency and the WVOT, including coordinating with WVOT management; Facilitate answering client questions and pro-actively inquiring/tracking progress on agency requests/service tickets; Act as the client's representative to WVOT while communicating WVOT's strategy, policy, updates and news; Participate with key client Steering Committees or with WVOT Programs (ie, Office Moves or Telephony Project teams); Provide timely response to client support issues; Follow up with clients, including requesting feedback or process improvement suggestions; Assist the WVOT PMO and agencies with project initiation process, including gathering additional information and research necessary to allow WVOT senior management staff insight into project needs, feasibility and prioritization; Represent the office in meetings with various agencies, vendors, and community organizations regarding projects utilizing IT services; Maintain agency documentation in a manner that is accessible for members of the Intergovernmental Relationship Office (IRO) and WVOT management staff.</p><p>Remote work available</p><ul><li>As a condition of employment, an inquiry into job-related information will be completed which may include, but not limited to, criminal records, abuse registry records, driving records, employment history, and education and training.
