Job Description:

The Office of Student Development is seeking a Graduate student for employment. This position is funded by the university. All graduate students looking for employment are welcome to make application for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.Support the Assistant Director of Clubs Development and Programming with the management of Clubs and Organizations, including, but not limited to:

a. Assisting with the maintaining records;

b. Club & Organization Registration Risk and Release Forms

c. Create and implement training in collaboration with the Assistant Director;

d. Assist with advising clubs and organization as needed;

e. Support Clubs and Organizations with event management; be knowledgeable of Engage (FalConnect) Software

f. Review and update policies & procedures with the Assistant Director and

Director;

2.Assist the Assistant Director of Club Development and Programming with the Fitchburg Activities Board (FAB) and Flock the Weekend;

3.Attend FAB general body and Executive Board meetings as needed

4.Hold one on one's regularly with the Chairs of the Fitchburg Activities Board to check-in on the status of their programs

5.Be an active participant in supporting any major events (i.e. Spring Week, Greek Week, Homecoming, Recognition Night, Drag Show, etc.)

6.Participate in a rotation with the professional staff, directly supervise the operations for evening and weekend programs as assigned (minimum 2 nights a week on average);

7.Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1.Good written and verbal communication skills; strong customer service orientation; ability to interact well with the diverse segments of the Fitchburg State University community.

2.The successful candidate will be a mature, responsible, independent thinker, who demonstrates flexibility and good problem solving skills.

3.Preference will be given to candidates with previous event programming experience.

4.Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working with college age students.

Additional Information:

This is a Fall 2024 vacancy.

The tour of duty is determined by the Graduate Student's class schedule, however, this position will usually work 5 hours a day, Monday's through Thursday's. This position requires availability during weeknights, weekends, and some holidays.

Assistants will work for 20 hours a week for 40 weeks in order to earn the full stipend.
