This position is responsible to ensure all accounting activities are completed and in compliance with the requirements of company financial policies and procedures. Lead the daily management and supervision of the accounting team including overseeing the work of accountants, reviewing financial statements, and preparing reports for upper management. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions

  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements

  • Coordinating activities of external auditors

  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process

  • Managing the budget process

  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes

  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed

  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise 1 to 2 staff members

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • 2+ years of management experience

  • Experience with QuickBooks

SKILLS

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong planning and problem solving skills

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with ACH a plus

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel

  • Proficient with computers and bookkeeping software

  • Detail-oriented and organized
